>every other insect>ewwww gross, get it away from me!>bees>mmm, delicious bee barf, yum yum>goo for larvae? Also good! Why are bees exempt from the grossness factor?
taste good
>>5141648Fuzziness/roundness reminds us of mammals + you can’t argue with the taste of honey
they're cute and we've had a relationship with them for a very long timewhat members of hymenoptera elicit "gross" anyways?its either danger with ants and wasps or cute and friendly with bees
>>5141648people like beetles, butterflies, and mantises though
>>5141672You just know
I think just like humans evolved to be afraid of snakes and spiders for obvious reasons, so too we evolved to be okay with bees because honey has been the greatest asset to humanity for probably as long as it existed.
large eyes make things easier to humanize subconsciouslyits almost entirely this, see: mantids, moths and jumping spidersif wasps didnt sting, they'd be in the same group
>>5141648bumblebees have never slighted man
>>5141679
>>5141691This is terrifying.
>>5141648It's simple, my dear old chap.>they fuzy>>5141675and spidersmany people are scared of them but many people think they are oddly cute. also probably because of a good relationship with man (presence of spiders is usually non-presence of worse bugs, like how cats are loved because they got rid of smaller and more annoying/dangerous vermin)also they're "clean". many bugs are associated with filth but bees are not. and most bugs people like are not associated with filthlike how pillbugs are cute but german roaches are not despite looking pretty similar from standing even though roaches are goofy lil dudes and pillbugs are stupid and lame. but seeing cockroaches mean your life is a shambles so we stomp em good to feel better
>>5141648Fuzzy and big
>>5141699Not really. You have nothing to fear. Humans are too big for us to eat anyway.
>>5141656>what members of hymenoptera elicit "gross" anyways?sawflies
>>5141679Cute licky licks
>>5141648Well, people associate bees with pollination, and pollinations good, so that might be something to do with it
>>5141648cause theyre not grossdont drink blood so not disease factorsdoesnt eat literal shitonly go for flowering plants that all smell nice so they probably smell nice too (wouldnt know tho never sniffed a bee)round = cutefuzzy = cutepattern = cute
BIG
>>5141648Bees are fuzzy and adorable. They do little dances to communicate.
>harmless if you leave it alone>hangs out around pretty flowers all day>literally shits literal candygee I wonder why people don't look at bees the same way they look at maggots and ticks
>>5141648No bee/wasp/ant is gross, neither are beetles, potato bugs, dragonflies, mothers/butterflies, jumping spiders,
>>5141679>see: mantidsit's wild how easy it is to anthropomorphize them
>>5141656stingless bees
>>5142077Some guy is making a whole web series based off human/bug perception differences
>>5141648Bees are fucking adorable fuck offThe closest thing to fairies
>>5142082That’s cool as fuck though
honey bees are a metaphor for white people in the new world
>>5142146literal wasps
when honey bees swarm they go out as a huge group to start a new colonydoesn't that sound like... colonialism?
>>5142146Aren’t honey bees thriving?
>>5141648bumblebees created the friend-shaped phenomenon
>>5141732why
They are the cleanest insect / animal in the world. Their hive is literally antiseptic
>>5141648Soft fur, big eyes, one round part, beautiful colorsTotally ignore you unless you're very close to their nestLadybugs shares some of that too and nobody find them gross
