I thought it was funny and likes seeing their organs.
>Grow up
>Feel overwhelming guilt for hurting so many snails
>They did nothing wrong, they just wanted to have a good day
>Try and be kinder to snails now
Please try and teach your kids that snails are not bad creatures and just want to have a good day.
It sounds dumb but I genuinely feel like such an asshole for how many snails I just let die in slow horrible ways for nothing but my twisted childhood entertainment, only to see them now as something totally wholesome and sweet
>>
>>5142806
don't be upset about it
those snails had it coming

They didn't. They deserved to have a good day and not have a stupid child kill them cause "hurrr durrr organs and guts look cool".
I saw it as they were pests. No different than roaches or scorpions. They weren't. They didn't bother me and I should have just let them be.
What I did back then was wrong.
If I have a boy, I will do everything I can to at least plant the seed in their head that a snail is just a slow happy critter trying to have a good day.
They died with their organs fully exposed. The worse pain imaginable. No way to regrow their shells.

They deserved better.

>>5142844
Holy shit me too kek. I completely forgot about it until now. I dont even remember my thought process, but I guess I saw them as undeserving of love as flies and roaches. Nowadays I would help a snail get out of a street if I saw one, but I hardly see them these days.
>>

>Nowadays I would help a snail get out of a street if I saw one, but I hardly see them these days.
I don't see em anymore.
I have no clue why they were in the desert, but they were. Closest I see now is slugs which are a pest.
Snail deserved better
>>
Kids do stupid and evil shit
My boomer parents told me kids used to do things like put firecrackers in the mouths of frogs and stuff, but they deeply regret it now
>>
>>5142870
Boomers at least had mass lead poisoning as a reason to behave that way.
I guess all I can do is grow up an do better. For what ever it's worth I am very kind to animals now and try and care for them when I can with the exception of pests that break into my home.

Snails deserve to have good days even if they are slow.
>>
>>5142877
she doesnt look like she's having a good day...

But they are pests. They destroy gardens

I appreciate your attempt to make me feel better. If it were a garden I may have felt a little better. It wasn't.
It was an apartment complex.
They didn't deserve it.
I feel better than yesterday.
I can only grow as a person and try to do better and guide others not to repeat my mistakes.
>>5142932
That one got to me cause of the cracked shell, but they're still determined to have a good day.
What I did was worse. The can survive small fractures. What I did completely destroyed their shell and was cruel and wrong.

If I see a snail I will attempt to help them and help them have a good day.
If I have kids, I will tell the that snails are great terrarium pets so they avoid sadistic impulses
>>
how many of these images do you have

As many as I find on a search.
There are a lot of variations, they all make me feel a little sad and guilty
>>
Nigger they're snails. They're barely even alive. You feeling bad about this is infinitely more pain than those snails ever felt.
>>
>>5143272
Empathy for lesser creatures is a sign of a soul.
>>
>>5143280
Thanks.
If they were consumed for Escargot or were ruining my property or a danger to my dogs or something.
I am not such a bleeding heart I refuse to step on a scorpion.
What started bothering me was it was such cruelty for absolutely no reason. If anything they made things worse by feeding ants and roaches and scorpions.
I see them far differently now.
They deserve compassion.
>>5143272
I mean, probably.
But they still didn't deserve it.
It's not "meat is murder" type sperging. The way they died is the worse was they could possibly die. It wasn't an accident or for a reason other than dumb kid wanna look at snail guts.
Maybe it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but even by your logic attempting to be a better person who is kinda to lesser creatures is important.
>>
>>5142870
I poured chemicals on ants, no regrets. Fuck ants

Ants are different. They are pests. They get in your home. They contaminate your food. They bite humans.
A snail is different.
Part of my guilt stems from knowing the horrible things I did created a feast for ants
>>
>>5143329
I liked feeding insects to ant colonies and spiders in their webs.
>>
I feel bad for fucking everything except mosquitoes and cockroaches.
I'm going to sound like a huge faggot but I do feel bad when I see an ant on my shoe or clothes because I know that once it gets off it's doomed as it'll never find its way back home.
Same with basically everything you do. Just gardening ruins the life of so many critters it's pretty sad when you think about it.
Doesn't mean you should be an absolute retard and convince yourself that killing living beings is fine just because you consider yourself a superior lifeform
>>
I wish more people had the same attitude you do op
the biggest challenge we have today is learning how to coexist with the natural world and too many people think not raping nature is a sign of weakness

If you are consuming it, I have less issue. After all I am not a vegetarian.
If it is a threat to the things you love or your property, sure, that is pest control.
But.... I've gotten a soft spot for these little guys lately and see the error of my childhood.
>>
>>5143334
Ants were here before you.
>>
i cried once as a kid because my mom refused to let me keep the cool snail i found outside
>>
>>5145199
and Sharks were here before trees. What is your point?
Ants get in your home, eat/contaminate you food, and bring little to no benefit to humans.
I'll leave them alone if they aren't bothering me, problem is they usually are always doing something that is bothersome
>>
>>5142806
Humans are apex predators. Our instinct to destroy other animals is innate.

I was the same way.
I feel really bad about it now that I'm much older.
>>
very good macro
>>
>>5143329
This except I used a magnifying glass as a solar deathray on them. Ants always invaded my house when I was younger so that made them enemies.
>>
>>5142806
Damn

Never did anything like this

Mom had me kill a small snake once and i got teary eyed after I did it cause I didn't want too but she thought it was a copperhead (not sure what it was, it was a solid copperish (almost red really) color but had no markings, much darker than any copperhead i've seen

Felt real bad about it, i was in high school by then
>>
I had to kill a mouse that was living in my basement by heading it with a shovel after it got stuck on a sticky trap because it kept avoiding the bucket trap I set up and was getting into stuff and trying to build nests. I will never forget it looking up at me in total terror, it took me a few minutes to will myself to kill it. I wish I could have gotten it out of my house somehow instead.
>>
The only time I ever got in a fight at school was when I became genuinely engaged at another kid coming over and stomping all over an anthill I was watching, it wasn't even anywhere near the school.
>>
>>5149239
*by beheading it with a shovel.

I couldn't think of a better way to kill it. It was really stuck to the trap and I didn't want to drown. My mother was really upset to because she was the one who bought the sticky traps and had just assumed the somehow quickly and painlessly killed whatever got stuck to them, idea what she thought they did exactly

Snakes, especially copper heads, are venomous and territorial.
If it were a Carolina Racer or something maybe it'd be worth feeling bad about since all it's doing is keeping your land free of mice.
>>5149239
I've grown to had mice and rats with a passion (not the domesticated ones of course)
They destroy your home and get into your food. Fuck those little bastards.
They deserve suffering.
All a snail ever wanted to do was have a good day.
>>
>>5150742
Well that's just it, I don't think it was a copperhead at all it had no pattern whatsoever and wasn't that coppery, more just red

Judging by what you are describing it sounds like a cotton mouth which is even deadlier and more aggressive.
If it had red stripe then it would be the non venomous rat snake
>>
>>5142806
If it can help I hda friend that instead would collect them and free them in the house, his mom was quirky enough and didn't really care for that phase, so they just chilled with having snails strolling on the ceiling
>>5149239
I had to kill one too similarly because my cat was torturing it, feels bad
Now my dogs take care of them quickly, but they're getting a bit old

It's fucked up but I think hurting animals is kind of an essential step to a young child developing their morality. A kid just doesn't know what he's capable of and how it's going to make him feel until he actually does it, and it'll stick with him for the rest of his life.
