Why does it seem like there is such a massive cultural obsession with cats in russian society? Most cat breeders I know are russian, most cats being imported for studs are russian, russian folk art and fables seem to love cats as a motiff, whenever an apartment is evacuated due to a drone strike there are half a dozen russians clutching desperately to cats instead of dogs or other pets... so whats the deal? I have never noticed it up until now but it seems like a nation of cat lovers.
