There likely will eventually come a day when zoos/circuses are the only place where today's wild animals have a home. As each installation requires their own technical team to care for them, they may be our eventual last hope to effect any sort of reintroduction/repopulation effort, as their combined knowledge will be invaluable in such an undertaking.
