In 2 or 3 hours, my dog will be euthanizied.80% of his lungs don't work anymore, but his body is giving up before his mind. He is 17 years old.This is so painful anons, I just needed a place to vent.

I hold him down until he could spit whatever he had blocking his throat and he slowly calmed downIt was awful If it had happened in the middle of the night or when everyone was out of home, then he would have died full of pain and fear.There is no one he loves more in this world than my father. My father all the way until today has tried any methods to save him, and has slept by his side for months. He has always been an assertive man that takes charge, but he looked at me wanting me to do this decision, because he couldn't do it himself. Asfixiation is the worst way to died, and I want to save my dog from it. Give him the opportunity to die on his sleep that he otherwise wouldn’t have. I just hope he can stand the night until tomorrow.The vet will come to our home, we thought it would be better for him if it was in a place he was familiar with.

I put my cat down today after a year and a half battle with cancer, this was on top of losing another cat earlier this year. Its never easy but it seemed the dog had a nice long life with you.

The only time I ever saw my dad cry was when he came back from the woods having just buried our dog that my parents got when I was 2. Even now when he comes up in conversation my dad always excuses himself from the room.
Sucks bro.But we've been there.Too many times to mention.Last time I had to do it the vet came out because I had a Great Dane (ever take a broken Great Dane to the vet?!) that couldnt walk anymore and we just chilled in the yard with her head in my lap.He gave her the "numbing shot" and she just put her head down instantly as if to say "thank God, im outta here".He claims she reacted too fast to be the medicine but i was sitting with her for 2 fucking hours so I honestly believe she understood we were releasing her from her mortal binds.
It will be okay anon, I've put down my 15 years old husky on 30 May, it was right decision since she piss herself all time, had troubles to get up and I had clean her ass and fly grubs daily.
