I found out today that my cat is filled with fluid.I got an x ray done. Is there anything that can be done to save her. They want me to put her down tomorrow

My cat has fluid in her.Based off the x rays, is it worth even trying to save her or should I just put her down

I wanted to laugh because of your awkward phrasing but thats horrible
Sorry op
>>
>>5144783
What, in her lungs?
>>
>>5144783
how old, because thats an indicator that shes dying of old age, had to go through that with my dog, and let me tell you its not a pleasant way to go because theyre essentially drowning in their own lungs

In her chest and stomach, possibly lungs too. She won't meow.

i'm so sorry. the youngest we had to put down was only 6 months old, the oldest died at 19 or so years.
i would say, enjoy another week with her and then let go

Does anyone have any advice or tips? How to spend the last day with your cat

:((((((

I just feel like I did something wrong, or that I didn't something right. I feel like a terrible owner. I really just wish there was a way that would heal her. But I don't want to pay for surgery If it's something that'll come back Soon i'm okay with paying for surgery. If it's a fix all though. But the vets seem to say that even after surgery, she'll have a lot of issues potentially.

Does anyone know if this is something I did, or is it something that just naturally happened to her, the vets gets to something ruptured, like a tumor or an organ. She even mentioned rat poison, which I don't own.But I don't know what it looks like or what it is. And i'm paranoid, that, what if a neighbor did it or maintenance.

Sounds like the wet version of FIP. You can get her tested for it, and if it is you can ask if they have access to GS-441524, which might cure it, but the drug is still fa8rly new and thus hard to come by.
Otherwise, while the dry version can at least be managed with other medications for many years, the wet version is a death sentence.

OP, be happy your cat made it this long. Over 10 years old is great. I know you get attached for all the time you had it, the longer you own it, the harder it is to let go. You did everything right, your cat had a good life. But to prolong their suffering, if they are in pain, won't be good for them. Instead of dragging things to a finish line, you can put the cat down while it still has some dignity.
My spouses grandma had a cute five year old cat. She did everything right. It was a happy cat. Earlier this year, grandma woke up to her dead on the floor. I think it was a heart defect in that breed.
She didn't even get to say goodbye. But you, you can say goodbye. It will hurt, but remember the happy times.
As for spending last days with your cat, lots of pets, cuddles, treats, take them outside to breath some fresh sniffs, and take lots of photos and video.
Remember anon, that perhaps in the future, there will be another great cat for you that will love you for being its owner. And your old cat will look happily down upon ye, and wish you well.

yeah, youre in the expected range for old age
>>5144820
just hold them, when theyre like this, doing anything is pretty hard
>>5144822
you cant cure old age, your cat is old, accept that its old, and when thing get old, they die, you cant really get sad about it dying at this point, just be happy that you have a cat that is dying of old age. if theres fluid in her chest cavity, shes fucked, if my dog was any to go by, you have days before they die, and having sat through the death throes, its not a pleasant experience to watch them hallucinate and spasm as they slowly suffocate to death; see if you can get an at home euthanasia and just hold and pet them the entire time

Just get a new cat if this one doesnt work you retard, they're all the same minus the fur color

Yeah that's normal. We usually call it "blood".
