I like Frogs, I hope you like them too!
HELLO! I made this thread cuz I like frogs, I don't know but they gave me a sense of comfort. I first developed my love for frogs, when I am having a mental breakdown after school, I am walking down the forest path and it started raining, I don't know but the time it touches my body, I gave in. I cried and shouted my heart out to the pouring rain, knowing my agony and despair won't be heard. But then, while I was in the ground, I saw a frog came, it hopped until it faced me, I jump because I was afraid of them, growing up knowing that their pee can blind people. So I stood up and and just stared at it. It's crocking and not moving, suddenly it faced forward and held it head high, savoring the rain. I got the hint and did the same, I held my head up high and let the rain pour against my face, carrying down my tears. I felt so much relief, but the moment I look back at Mr. Frog, he's gone. I don't know where did he go, but I am so thankful for his comfort. I know he might've moved on, and so am I. Carrying his unspoken lesson, that "Even though your carrying a lot of weight in your back, always held your head up high and move forward".Thank you, Mr. Frog for saving me in the depths of my despair. are toads cute too?
>>5148706YES!They are sooo cute too!So, I just want to educate here. I was unknowledgeable of the difference of Toads and Frogs. I just thought they are all the same. But they aren't!I am playing MetaZooa for a long time now, and in the order of Taxonomy (It is how the animals are sorted into proper orders, groups, families, etc) Frogs and Toads in the order "Anura", it's basically amphibians with with no tail, and all frogs and toad are in that category. Furthermore, there are different families in the Anura Order, and Frogs are in "Ranidae", True Frogs specifically, they are described to have moist skin, smooth skin, and slender legs (just like in the picture on the left)Then, True Toads are classified in the "Bufonidae" Family, which have the characteristics of dry, bumpy skin, and stubby bodies. Also, in my hometown, there are commonly toads in the area, so in that day (which I have featured in the first thread) I am so baffled that I saw one True Frog, maybe because it's raining that's why.So, yeah that is it, If you have questions or something to share, don't hesitate to reply!Thank youu!Photo by: Celia, 2022 @EyewireLink: https://blog.eyewire.org/frog-vs-toad-amphibious-battle/
>>5148717>Frogs are in "Ranidae">rainy day>frogs love the rain because wet weather keeps their sensitive skin moist and safe from drying out
>>5148723HAHAHAHA That's a good one >U<
>>5148728Awww, so cuteee <3. I wish we also got a chunky one. All the toads here looks like a deflated balloon :(
>>5148699dota 2
>>5148699
>>5148723I've literally never thought of this.
>>5148888True, they're so witty and funny I could croak :D
kinda crazy how loud a frog is compared to how small they are
>>5148723i found this out from playing chibi robo i think its when you do the dance with the frogs
do we like cane toads.
>>5149134YES! Just because: firstly, they're Toads, and as much as we like Frogs, we appreciate them too! Secondly, they are the most common type of Toads here in our hometown, so I liked them growing up. Lastly, They're cute no matter what they look like (And that is optional because I will understand if you don't like them :( )
>>5149026I also found that fascinating, but here's actually what's happening behind the play.>Air is drawn into the lungs.>The frog pushes air across the vocal cords (larynx).>The vocal cords vibrate and create sound.>Instead of leaving the body, the air fills the vocal sac.>The inflated sac acts like a resonating speaker, making the sound much louder.>The air cycles back into the lungs, so the frog can call repeatedly without taking many breaths. It also comes from their evolution; (1) they may be calling for a mate, (2) they might be fighting a rival for a mate or their territory, (3) they might be warning other frogs around of the danger ahead.
>>5149026OMG, you know there are invasive species of frog here, and even if they are so tiny, they make the loudest croak you can ever heard ranging from 90-100 decibels.Photo from: Audrey Mcavoy, 2011 @Tucson
frogs you say?
>>5148700So you’re like Itachi from Naruto except that a frog showed you that you need to live instead of a crow? Can you dissolve into a crowd of frogs and all hop away?
>>5149741Oh, I haven't watched Naruto, but I sure hope I can dissolve into a crowd of frogs and run away HAHAHAHA.
>>5149658FROGS, FROGS, FROGS, and TOADS!!AN ARMY OF FROGSSSS
All aboard the amphibious express.
May I take a second and ask what your favorite Frog/Toad species is?I like Poison Dart frog, maybe because of its color, though I am sad I can't touch them :(
>>5149925Many people keep them as pets in dedicated vivariums, they don't produce poison in captivity because of the difference in diet. If you ever want frog pets they are a cool option
Anyone else remember this bad boy? I read it in middle school because I'm very old.
