What's wrong with finding a balance between protecting the environment and allowing development?
>>5148914Because they're not finding one. And this "development" is not going to be for new homes. It's going to be for data centers.
I fear what this means for conservation of the wolf :(
Don't worry about it.

>>5148930blue and red are two arms of the same machine, and the machine is a meat grinder. You and animals are equally meat. I do not consider the opinions of my bratwurst, but I do appreciate its juiciness.
>>5148939>muh two wings, same birdin some respects, this is true, but in terms of conservation, you'd have to be braindead, paid off, or both to think R and D are equally as bad

>>5148939You would've had a point before 2025. One wing has flown entirely off the deep end.

>>5148939>le both sides are the same! While this is true, I've been seeing this sentiment A LOT more in the past year compared to almost never seeing it during Biden's term. >>5149296Doubtful. Just look at how unpopular Biden was at the end of his run
>>5149296>republicans are more likely to admit their guy sucksExtreme doubt. I always see people on 4chan at least double down, blame someone else, or say it's fake/a smear
>>5149233It's almost like trump lied about everything which pissed off his base far more than biden doing everything demcorats agreed with at the time.By now, I would have rather voted directly for President Benjamin Netanyahu over any of these clowns. >>5149310then explain why more people are saying both sides suck more than ever
>>5149312so do republicans say their guy sucks or not?
>>5149317They voted for trump because of what he promised, not what he is currently doing, and because of what kamala didn't promise and had a track record of doing. This entire administration feels like a blatant attempt at discrediting correct right wing views. Take "anti-MRNA vaccine = anti ALL vaccine" bullshit in the media and just extend that concept it to everything. We have literally no choice but to just stay the course and keep incompetent republicans in power because the other option is now mal-educated liberals throwing the country away south africa style.
Its not that I am against using our natural resources in principle, its the execution of it, especially this party and this president. I simply don't trust the process. I grew up in coal country and the things I saw as a kid would gag a maggot, speaking specifically of strip mining. You see a mountainside that was strip mined back then, and I don't know how else to describe it other than instinctively seeing desecration. And I am talking 10 years old and seeing it. It just looked like a cabal of monsters waged war on nature itself. Most recently, this mining for minerals in the Pacific gives me the heebie jeebies. I want to believe that the ecosystems there are already sparse and hardy, able to take the damage. I think the end product of the minerals is a bigger concern, but thats a subjective point of view. What bothers me is that I don't think they know what the impact will be and more infuriating, they don't care to know. It just doesn't interest the business. And its been my observation that they will get away with exactly whatever they are allowed to unless someone with authority steps in.And there are no good guys in these stories. The people charged with protecting such areas are just as often as not simply withholding them for their own cronies to get later.I am for energy and, in theory, responsible industry, if there is such a thing, which is impossible without competent regulation and integrity. Its not an abstract. The planet and people on it stand to lose things forever if they aren't protected. But this seemingly common-sense consideration never seems to be a sincere part of the discussion. It seems like it is just people virtue signalling as cover for their own agendas.
>>5149296>republicans are more likely to admit their guy sucksThanks for the laugh anon, I needed that.
>>5149321And another thing that pisses me off: this is alway supposed to be a win for public and our wealth and IT NEVER IS. EVER.The wealth always leaves the country and/or gets kicked up. These people come in and wreck the ecosystem, poison water and then expect a thank you for leaving as little destruction as possible and a new baseball field or some shit. Its not just plunder and vandalism, its robbery as well.
>>5149324It's shit like this that is starting to make me think the monarchistfags are right. Democracy is just a revolving door of people (oftentimes people that should NEVER be in public office) that are basically using the office for their own and friend's enrichment and then fucking off and going "fuck you got mine". Maybe it is better if we had people that were groomed from birth to be leaders of a country.
>>5149327The monarchists were always right. Democracy caused the collapse of greece and nearly caused the collapse of rome. It was always, always a horrid idea.
>>5149327democracy literally destroyed athens, it speaks volumes when the creator is destroyed by its own creation, and its fanboys, the romans, didnt adopt it. theres a reason why you had you had to be a land owner when the constitution was drafted, they wanted a system to emulate aristole's aristocracy, having some ghetto trash voting for only bread and circuses causes a lot of problems, along with foreigners with dual citizenship and communists
>>5149317I voted for trump because people like you overreached for two decades and created this tranny dystopia
>>5149334>tranny dystopiaIt's shit like this that shows you the incels that voted for the orange pedo don't live in reality. With the way tranners make them seethe you'd think they were half the population.
>>5149334>>5149340>less than 1% of COVID infections result in death by COVID or comorbidies>Retardicans: it's fake>less than 1% of the population is transgender>Retardicans: OMG TRANNIES EVERYWHERE IT'S AN EPIDEMIClmao

>>5148892man i just want one part of the internet i can go where i don't have to see this child molesting lorax is that so much to ask?
Animals & Nature?
>>5148914>What's wrong with looting the natural world? Oy vey think of the profits!
>>5148892Good because there is no point in keeping endangered species alive just for the sake of it while blocking development. Millions of species went extinct before humanity even appeared and yet nobody cares.Meanwhile other species adapt and thrive in human-created landscapes.
>>5149296>republicans are more likely to admit their guy sucksHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAwhy do you faggots always lie. you're fucking pathetic.why did jannies delete the original?
>>5149321While I understand your feeling of seeing desecration I also don't think conservationism is an answer. We would benefit massively by shifting focus from conservationism to enriching urban sprawl with nature (more plants/habitats/whatever for animals/bugs/birds). This would solve a dozen problems for both humans and animals. The whole dichotomy between "nature" and "man-made" should be erased. Humans are nature. Humans benefit from being close to nature. Instead of fighting to conserve specie #52341231 that nobody will come in contact with anyway, we should fight to make cities full of flora and fauna. Literally just build concrete roofs over all parking lots, put soil, grass, bushes there, and let bugs and birds and animals settle there.
I cannot bring myself to care, because nothing can be done anyway. Ina decade or two it will become apparent how fucked we are, and nobody will be able to deny it. And that's when the fabric of society will begin to unravel. Thus I've become an acceleration it's. Fuck it. Drill baby drill.
>>5148892There is something to be said about climate change activists being obnoxious. Driving an electric car around isn’t going to save the world or make any difference at all. I live in an area where our electricity comes from coal. My roommate brags about his electric car and what he’s doing for the environment but he’s just literally rolling coal everywhere he goes. Some of the thought process is absolutely lobotomized when it comes to carbon emissions. Not shit over here is going to matter when China and India do what they do unobstructed. Also, there are many factors which contribute to climate change. Huge wind farms, for example, remove large amounts of energy from the wind and that changes heat maps. The map of wind farms compared to the map of all these wet bulb events say a lot. That said, attacking the forests and endangered species list is the most retarded imaginable reaction to that.
>>5149453I don't believe anyone brags about how green they are. No one. And certainly not anyone you've ever, ever encountered nevermind your roommate specifically. I am the Duchess of Winnipeg. See? I can post false, retarded nonsense like you, too.

>>5149456Whatever dude. I have to listen to NPR with him whenever we go anywhere. There’s this show on sundays, I think, where they talk about etymology and I like that one. It’s big world and people are different. Believe whatever you want.
>>5149481that image is shooped btw and is about the 2004 indonesian tsunami.but i know that's not going to stop you from thinking it's about "feces concentration" and still posting it.
>>5149445i don't think your idea and his are mutually exclusive
>>5149487Yes, yes, you "have to" listen to NPR because simply going out or putting in earbuds or telling your roommate to turn it off/down is an utter impossibility. Not only am I the Duchess of Winnipeg, but I fucked her, too. I am the Duchess and I fucked her. And I'm the Viceroy of Tuscaloosa, as well. And the President of Burundi.
>>5149530he's clearly talking about in the car
>>5149441>Meanwhile other species adapt and thrive in human-created landscapes.Yeah, what's so bad about living in a world where the only things you ever see are roaches, weeds, pigeons, and other natural survivors.
>>5148965This, plus Indonesia. The bugmen starving as a result is a plus.
>>5148892Nothing he does is going to stick
>>5149481Why would you embarrass yourself publicly like this
>>5149569>the year is 2100...>the only birds are house sparrows, common mynas, and pigeons>the only bugs are mosquitos, roaches, and spotted lanternflies>the only plants are bermudagrass, bamboo, and tree of heaven>the only animals are us, cats, and feral hogs
>>5149569>>5149638>all kinds of parrots colonizing European cities>corvids >raccoons>mustelids>foxes>boars>rodents>hares>hedgehogs>deer>the list goes onI live almost in the center of a 1 million pop city in Europe and I've seen more animals here than in nature. I assume it's because they stopped fearing humans as much here. Saw a huge polecat several times, saw fox cubs playing on a pile of sand from a construction site several evenings in a row, saw a magpie teasing a hare with a french fry. Boars walking around, deer, water mammals. The city just distributes bait with rabies vaccines and places those bug hotels half assedly, I'm sure if there was an actual effort to create a hospitable environment for animals there would be even more. >>5149529They're not mutually exclusive in theory but in practice conservationism dominates public discourse. This makes me think it's mostly weaponized by interest groups, because I can't imagine people (ecologists, hippies, whatever, anyone) going, "WTF. They want to start mining in that far away forest. A slightly different specie of mice lives there! Oh the humanity!" I get, "I live next to the forest and I don't want it destroyed", but I don't believe people near that forest are aware/care about some obscure species.
And if you think about it conservationism is even dumber now with the climate change. You're gonna preserve some species only for it to die out 10 years later because conditions changed and a species more suitable to the new situation took over that area.Release parrots everywhere.

>>5149831Rape babies mostly. They don't even conserve Israel like the antisemitic joke, because Mossad begged them NOT to bomb Iran and they did it anyway Honestly, its so cruel to notice that there is increased rape and then make abortion illegal.
>>5148892What did Animals ever do to White people? This is not the first time. They killed all the cheetahs in South Asia for fun even though cheetahs are the only harmless large cat And before you guys start blaming brown people, Native Americans didn't hunt anyone to death and Jews, Buddhists and Hindus believe that animals have souls
>>5149831The ability of Israel to dictate US foreign policy
>>5149841Mossad begged Trump not to do shit several times and he did it, and when that did not work he blamed it on Mossad It's more likely that they are preserving rape babies and old man egos
>>5149445>>5149695I think that as we lose more land to development then we should put more effort into making the existing land as good as possibleWhat I mean by this is if you have a tiny suburban creek why not build a dam and turn it into a several acres of swamp or wetland. That area is now a thousand times more diverse and useful for wildlife. Or actually cutting down shitty second growth forest and let it grow back as meadows and grassland that can support species that need open areas like birds and reptiles. Disturbance is good for the environment (to an extent) and creates the most complex ecosystems as things regenerate. Every year will be something different as different species naturally succeed others.I've talked to some other people about this but most modern conservationists are of the opinion that we should "HECKING LEAVE NATURE ALONE AND DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!" which leads to mediocre habitat because once again, disturbance is good and habitat needs to be regularly managed.
>>5149878>and habitat needs to be regularly managedI wouldn't even call it a management, really. It's about creating good basic opportunities. >make a pond>put up some nests>down couple of (dying) trees and let them rot>make woodpiles>drill holes to dead wood for insectsIt's a month per year work at most.

>>5149441>Millions of species went extinct before humanity even appeared Through natural causes upon generations. Rapid human made habitat destruction, over exploitation, ect is not natural.
>>5149431yes
>>5148892Good. Yeah, I wish we didn't have to get rid of wildlife areas, but christ we have such a high demand for housing and so many fucking humans nowadays, especially newcomers into the country. Anyone with more power than you is your enemy, be it monarchy or democracy. Glow all you want. The real evil is the rich and it'll always be that way until we finally mob rule them. Because for some reason, you can talk and convince a normal person, but these billionaire ghouls have neither soul, no intellect, no conscious. They enjoy destroying people, nature, and children. Im honestly shocked someone didn't blow orange mans brains out at the sheer obviousness of all this evil, but rightoids being the biggest pussy of the two has always been the meme.
