I think my cat is broken. He shows no interest in lunch meat OR cheese. I have never, in my decades of owning a cat, been able to make a sandwich without being molested until now. Starting with just that information can’t diagnostically take you anywhere and obviously it’s spreading fairly quickly. If I left the house so did he. No matter how hard I tried to keep him in. The whole neighborhood knew we were a tag team cause if I was around so was he. He was my shadow. But I didn't get to say goodbye. I didn't get to be with him in his final moments. I didn't know the last time I saw him would be the last time I saw him. I don't even get to bury him. I'm completely destroyed right now. Just sobbing off and on every moment I have alone. I'm barely keeping it together at work. Is it ridiculous for a man to be this devastated over a cat? I'm feeling actual real grief and don't think I'll be ok for a long time.

Sometimes my cat won't eat and will just keep meowing at me trying to get me to come to the kitchen and making a huge fuss like she wants something. I even tried giving her different food and she'd just stare at it for a moment and walk away. All until I get something to eat myself and then she'll gobble all her food down and take a nap.

>>5157852You absolutely need to cat proof your ledges and counters. The problem with training them to stay off counters is that cat's are willful critters. The best you're going to do is train the cat not to get on the counters WHEN YOU'RE AROUND. You have to have consistent feedback to train a cat. I've seen people do things like wired a noise-maker to a motion sensor and left that on the counter, so any time the cat jumped out there they were met with loud noises and flashing lights that spook them. that being said, my cat is actually really good about staying off counters. He'll get up there, but usually only to sniff at his bag of catfood I keep on the edge of the counter near his dish. His pain in the ass thing is my mantle. I used to keep pictures of my parents and sister, and the urn with my old cat's ashes, but this guy is offended by anything being on that mantle, and I've had to put all that shit other places.

Cats have a big blind spot in front and under their snout, which is why sometimes a cat can't find a treat you placed right in front of them, or why they go crosseyed when you boop their nose. Also cat's don't really have shoulders (a cat's arm isn't in a socket, its free floating to give them more mobility), so it would be hard to fire anything that needs a stock.

Hey /kot/. I had to put down my buddy today. He just got so sick so suddenly, and none of the meds he got prescribed were enough to help. We were planning on doing outpatient and giving him more meds but suddenly the vet came back with the xrays and told us it's not good, that he could die any day, and that he's likely in pain. I was actually feeling pretty optimistic because he had started eating more and more food again but nope. It just caught me so off guard bros, he was only 10 years old, I thought I had another 4-6 years at least. He was such a fucking good pet, I couldn't have asked for a better cat. I'm beyond devastated. He wasn't clingy but he still loved us and would hang out in the room with us or cuddle (only on his terms). I loved how he put up kind of a stoic tough guy act but he was secretly a huge softie who loved getting his belly rubbed and his face massaged. Fuckin A bros it hurts to cry, I've cried so much today. I think it's going to be a really long time before I'm able to get over him being gone. I keep thinking I see him around the house in all the places he used to hang out. RIP Rex. I love you so much man. Sorry for the blog post, I just haven't told any of my close friends yet and wanted to shout that into the ether to get it all out, hope that's okay. Picrel is him bundled up in his comfy lil cocoon during his final moments at the hospital today. Glad he was comfy, warm, and surrounded by his family while he passed at least.
