I say this without exageration: I trully think they are some of the dumbest fucking animals out there. My mother has a Horsefield and a Goldfish and despite the latter being confined to a tank it seems far more aware than the turtle. As soon as you enter the room the Goldfish comes out from it's hidey hole and will follow you across the length of the tank as you move around the room, it will even spit water out from the top of the tank if it hasn't been fed yet. My father can even tickle it, but the turtle? She's a rock with legs. If she isn't burrowed she is getting stuck because her fatass thought she could fit between the back of a sofa and wall and if she's not getting stuck she will starve herself because her food doesn't have red pepper on it. Doesn't matter if it's green or yellow pepper, she won't touch it unless it's red. No social or emotional attachment/bond despite my mother being autistic around her care and enviroment, she's just a rock. Unless you have a giant yard and want an Aldabra which are naturally social due to their social structures in the wild along with the fact they fucking kick ass, turtles are really low on the reptile rung.

I had a frog and I believe frogs take the crown of retardation. The frog was so retarded I had to wiggle it's food for a good 3minutes in front of its head so it would realise that it's indeed food

Frogs definitely take the cake. At least tortoises are curious, but frogs are almost like motion detecting robots.

Leopard geckos are in-between the stupidity chart between frog and tortoise from my experience. I used to own one 8 years ago and the little bastard had to be hand fed like a baby at times with how hard it was for it to snatch up a simple mealworm, even with the lights off which is better for their vision. Still they performed better than my frog, which sometimes doesn't even notice an insect crawling right on top of it. Makes me wonder how these goobers survive in the wild.
