Have you ever harmed an animal? Why did you do it?Do you feel bad about it?What have you done to be a better person since then?
>>5159077I harmed that bitch you call a mom with my large throbbing cock
>>5159077Yes. I stepped on my dogs tail. No shoes and I reacted before putting my full weight down, but he still. I apologized to him, gave him some pets then I gave him a piece of cheese.Yeah I felt bad about it until I apologized and gave him cheese.I am more careful, but sometimes his tail just ends up in a bad spot.
>>5159081Why did you poison your dog, asshole?
>>5159080>large
>>5159077As a kid I had a battle damage Jurassic Park stegosaur with a flexible tail and I was playing with it and hit my dog in the face with it and she cried and ran away and I felt horrible
>>5159077My old dog chewed up my favorite Jurassic Park toy and I beat the shit out of her for it. I never did it again, I realized how bad I was for that.I grew up a little bit and got enough power to be mean to people that way for a while and I regret all that too. I wish I'd been born a better person, or better yet, not at all.
>>5159077In middle school I had a pet guinea pig and one day it wouldn't stop squealing and I punched its tank so hard the glass broke and it got a shard in its eye.In elementary school I picked up my pet hamster without washing my hands after eating something and it bit me and I dropped it and it broke its back.I haven't kept any animals since getting out of school.
I've hurt chickens by killing them to feed myself and my dog. I've hurt rodents who trespassed into my families house.I've also sometimes smack Anya in the face when she does wrong. Sometimes I give her a time out where I tie her legs together forcing her to stay in a laying position. Sometimes I just end the walk early and carry her home. Or on occasion I shame her(like in pic related).I feel I'm fully justified in all these actions.

I harm outdoor cats.Because they are killing wildlife, birds, red squirrels, field mice. I saw one fucker chasing a rabbit, but I think he got away.No. I love animals. Therefore I hate outdoor cats. Cats are nice pets, keep them indoors.I've been trying to harm more cats. And I'm not talking about cats roaming in the city. I'm talking fuckers prowling in my local park, which is kinda on the city outskirts.
>>5159181Kinda based ngl.
>>5159191>>5159169Makes sense why your dog always looks so incredibly abused. It is!

>>5159077When I was 10 I once pushed my neighbour's cat off our garden's back wall for no particular reason. It wasn't a particularly high wall and I don't think the cat was actually hurt but I still think back on it twenty five years later and wonder why I would do something like that. I've not hurt an animal since.
I'm sad because some assholes in my country tortured and killed a two week old donkey.

>>5159077Yes when I was an alcoholic I went on a bender and forgot to top up my hamsters water, I found him dead and I have never desired to own a pet since. I still struggle with the harm I did, keeping him in a cage, even though I loved him and treated him well he died a bad death because of me. Ever since I have just felt that I shouldn't hold that kind of dominion over another living thing and have not owned a pet since.
>>5159116You're not alone. I've abused people in the past too and don't know how I could have ever done that.
>>5159169>Sometimes I give her a time out where I tie her legs together forcing her to stay in a laying positionThat's not ok. I had a good friend in high-school who tied his cat up once and told me about it. He killed himself eventually. Hope you find the help ou need
>>5159077Melted a cicada's brain with a magnifying glass one summer. Thought I'd be able to burn a hole through it but it just went completely still, very disappointing for kid me.Since then I haven't tortured any other critters.

Never told me but I think they just abandoned it at a parking lot. I hate myself a lot for that, I wasn't an idiot. I should have tried harder, I should have made more time. Instead, I looked away pretending it wouldn't happen and then it did and I still did nothing.
>>5159116I too have done terrible things I deeply regret. However, I learned from it and grew as a person.I try to be better, because the guilt still haunts me.I think learning from your mistakes is the point.I believe in redemption.
>>5159869When I was a little kid, the family dogs had puppies. My dad stupidly expected me to know you had to clean their kemnels daily. They got sick. One died. Her name was Ginger. My dad blamed me. He was an abusive drunk. He beat me, strangled me, and belittled me.He made me bury Ginger in an empty lot near and rv park. I wanted to die. I had never felt so much shame before. I was too young to understand that the reason they got sick was probably because of something they ate. Not because the kennel was dirty one day out of dozens. My dad was both an idiot and an evil asshole. Evem so, I still blame myself despite having learned the truth. To this day I still miss Ginger. She was a sweet little puppy. She deserved better than a traumatized kid as a caretaker.

I once killed a toad with my best friend when I was like ten or eleven years oldIt was his idea, we were just hanging out in the woods near a pond and we'd found this toad that wasn't moving much. He wanted to see what was inside and he had a knife so he put it on his back and like opened its belly with the knife to see the organs while it was still alive, like "duuude sick you can see his heart beating"I didn't want to look like a pussy but i felt sick to my stomach so i asked him if i could kill it - I didn't tell him it was to stop the toad's suffering, but more like "woah dude i totally wanna kill this fucker" so I took the knife and just stabbed it again and again until it wasn't moving anymoreI remember it haunted me for a while and I confessed to my mom crying like a few weeks afterwards. I still think about this fucking toad sometimes and my dumbass friend being such a psycho about it. I never told him it had bothered me but it was the beginning of the end of that friendship for me
>>5160108I feel bad even killing annoying insects.I still do it, but I try not to.However, if swarmed, I would absolutely bug zapper them all.
>>5160160Kids do dumb shit. Hell, even ignorant adults do dumb shit. Empathy is rare and sometimes has to be learned. Most people never learn it. Ever.
>>5159077Intentional abuse?I wasn’t very nice to insects and I eventually stopped after pulling the legs off an ant and seeing it writhe in my fingertips after each leg was pulled.Accidental abuse due to lack of experience?I fucked up dispatching a crippled gopher after I saw it running around with flattened legs presumably from a car. My only reference for putting down animals at that time was a few movies and some old books so I decided to drown it, I left it in the bush after it stopped moving then went on with day until I saw it running around again then I got a log for a more final solution. It wasn’t until later that my dad corrected me by saying that drowning was the worst possible way to go.I take care to not step on bugs anymore because they don’t need to die and if I ever were to find another animal to put out of its misery I would make sure it is quick.
>>5160162Oh yeah I realize now, in fact my mom told me something similar to reassure me, that it was normal to try bad things and she was proud that I felt bad about it.My friend meanwhile indeed always had troubles with empathy, I think he's like a mild sociopath or psychopath or whatever. It's interesting cause that event was like the first time I noticed but it's pretty consistent with the rest of his personality - I think he liked me as a friend because I was younger and always in admiration of him.Nowadays he just mostly posts racist memes and conspiracy theories on facebook
>>5160168I used to be a really messed up kid. >Age 2-4, wanted to be everyone's friend and just have fun and be a normal kid.>Age 5, black family moves in a couple doors down. The father is nice. The mother, daughter, and son are racist as fuck. They bully and torment me for years and even try to murder me by shoving me into oncoming traffic on ice. Not pretend murder. Real murder. They legit tried to kill me. I had never done anything to them and just avoided them. This was my first brush with racism, so I got over it and forgave them like a good, loving little Christian.>Age 8-12, family moves to Texas. Mexicans bully and torment me for years. During this time my father becomes a violent alcoholic asshole and fucks around on my mom. I become his favorite target for beatings, insults, and tyranny. He goes full narcisist. Also end up bullied by druggie white trash potheads many years older and twice my size.>Gradually, I become twisted and evil. I brutally kill small animals and bugs out of spite, pull a knife on my brother, and start fighting back against bullies in violent and potentially lethal ways. I never kill anyone, but end up being sent to psychiatrists to "figure out what's wrong with me", instead of people throwing my tormentors in prison. So it basically becomes psychiatric abuse and overmedication. >A few classmates try to protect me, but can't always be there for me, so I still get tormented.>Age 12-13, my family moves again. I try to reign in my darker impulses, but get bullied again. I start becoming violent again and I start training my body to be able to take beatings and dish them out with even more force. At 13, I'm the scary kid (5. ft., 9 in; 140 lb.) in school who took down the biggest guy (6 ft., 4 in.; 240 lb.) as well as the guy stupidly standing behind him. I get into a lot of fights. I get a lot of detention. My dad is not as bad as before, but still a drunk psycho when he gets mad. I never fihht back, because he's my dad.
>>5160168>Eventually I decide I want to kill every motherfucker that ever messed with me and keep training my body.>Then it happens. I meet Trish. She shows me real kindness in a platonic way when I'm at my darkest. I become her silent, but very volatile protector. I even go after a teacher that was sexually harrassing her. I get more detention and psychiatric treatments. >Then two girls I barely know show me kindness and I even make a friend. Hilariously by punching him for being a dick. I make a few more friends. I become more social. Trish helps me by always being kind to me and expecting nothing in return. >By age 15, my rage somewhat subsides. Trish has moved, but her kindness has a ripple effect. >Age 18, I kill a bunch of tiny frogs. I actually felt bad about it. At this point I have learned and finally understood empathy. I end up hating what I used to be and do everything I can to be a better person. I still struggle with it. There is still a black hearted monster lurking in me. ...but I want to be free of it. So I will never stop trying to be a good person.I protect all life now.

I still think about when I used fly spray on a large nest of meat ants because I was "curious". That was probably over 25 years ago and I still hate myself for that. I will literally kill nothing except for mosquitos, particularly annoying flies and indoor ants who are only following a pheromone trail. I never like doing that, but it's the only thing you can do.

>>5159077I have purchased meat in the past. I no longer purchase animal products A single individual consumer choosing to buy meat regularly for the next few years or choosing to be vegan for the next few years does make an actual difference. It almost certainly means the difference between many extra animals being bred into existence and tortured their whole life in a factory farm or being spared this fate and never bred into existence and never tortured.https://substack.com/home/post/p-209416785https://philarchive.org/rec/MCMAIOhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=brKhhZlUoOc (Only first few minutes of this video are relevant)https://benthams.substack.com/p/the-causal-inefficacy-objection-is?utm_source=publication-searchalso this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ABKAbFUnNwUis really good

>>5160227>ask yourself/benthams spammer at it againCan't make threads anymore huhYou have lost literally every argument you have ever started here. Your ethical system is fundamentally invalid. You can repost your reposted reposts all you want but it will always be true that being vegan for ethical reasons is morally impermissible. The correct, objectively correct option, assuming you have any loyalty to your own species and species like it, is to buy meat from farmers you like, hunt overpopulated wild game, and advocate for decentralized livestock rearing. Because if every factory farm shut down today, the vast majority of people would be malnourished to the point of being so significantly weaker and dumber than their economic superiors that they would be permanently locked into a lower caste. You can cope all you want but even the wealthiest vegans are putting massive amounts of effort into only being slightly malnourished and can't bring their offspring to full development... which is why their birthrate is 0.01/woman.

>>5159077when I was idk maybe 8 or 9 I was canoe camping with my dad in the boundary waters. we were going to bed in our tent one night when i noticed there was a fly, like a common house fly, on the side of the tent wall. I assume it was asleep since it wasn't moving or flying around or anything. anyway I hit it with my hand and killed it and for whatever reason my dad decided to basically yell at me for killing it saying it wasn't bothering us or whatever. to this day idk why he did that. at the time it made me feel really bad but now looking back at it it was just kind of retarded on his part. he was a pretty bad father and i didn't go to his funeral.
>>5160398You startled him and he got pissed off at you for it, but instead of admitting you startled him he seethed about you killing a fly.
>>5160398._. I watch my younger brother go back and forth between being a great dad one moment and an utter dick the next. He's autistic, so that may be why. He does genuinely try to be a good dad though and spoils his kids rotten to make up for his shortcomings.
Well, I eat meat, so I've indirectly cause a fair amount of animal suffering.
>>5160172>>5160177You forgot to make up a story about Indians and Jewish people.
I dropped a cellar spider into a lit candle when I was a kid. Just liked playing with fire. Did feel bad right after. Made a kinda squeak noise.
My mom got a shitbull and it killed our chickens so I beat the shit out of it. It escaped from the backyard one time and charged an 80 year old woman who was walking down the sidewalk, I slammed him on the ground by his throat. I regret nothing. That same dog has calmed down and respects me, always is excited to see me but immediately listens when I tell him to do something. Some animals only understand the language of aggression.

>>5161302You did the right thing.
When i was a kid i was so awful to this cat and to this day it plagues my consciousness how awful i treated the poor innocent cat. I stepped on its tail consciously, it started clawing at me cos i kicked it. I lose sleep over this, that poor fucking cat man. I was about 8, I was being abused at home and sexually abused so i think i took my anger out on the animal. That poor cat didnt do anything to me :( i sometimes cry for it.
I stepped on my aunt's cat's tail as a kid and felt rerrible about it immediately. It was an accident but still.I shot slugs and snails with airsoft guns too, I sinply didn't consider them worth any care at all. That was cruel, I'm not a big snail/slug enjoyer today either but there's no reason to pointlessly kill creatures just minding their own business like that.
As a child i once found baby chicks that had fallen from their nest and were already being swarmed by ants. I had no way if getting them back in the nest and they were bitten up and writhing in pain.I took a big shovel and smashed them dead. Other than that Im a softy even for insects. I beat up my elementary school buddy because he threatened to rip the wings off a ladybug. Ticks and Mosquitos dont count.
I hit two deer in 2024. More precisely, two deer rammed into my car, even after I swerved to avoid them.
When I was a kid, there used to be a tabby kitten that would come into our backyard. I remembered playing with it and feeding it stuff. One day I was playing with my airsoft gun in the backyard and the kitten was also there. I don't know why but I decided to shoot at it. I hit its face, right below one eye. It flinched but didn't run away. It just stood there with one eye closed, meowing at me. It left and never came back. I don't think I put the eye out but it was still a shitty thing to do.
>>5161730Were you just not conscious as a child? I have such a tough time understanding some of the things people posted in this thread.

The other day I came home and saw a big spider on my wall. It was too big for me to smush with a napkin so I got out an airsoft revolver. I might have shot at it like 20 times before I finally nicked it. It didn't die right away. It was suffering. So I kept shooting at it until it got clipped again and fell to the floor dead. I felt a bit bad for it. But it was gross. While I was doing all this another smaller spider crawled on the wall. I smushed him with a roll of paper towels. Then I kept shooting at the big one.

When I was 12 I lived in a Naperville neighborhood with a big retention pond in the center of a number of houses situated in a kinda C shape, it was kind of a small ecosystem. Fish, small mammals, and turtles. One day I was bored in the backyard and for some reason I was down there in the pond doing target practice with rocks throwing them in the water and I hit a turtle right on the shell and it just sunk into the water. I still have no idea if it was severely hurt, killed, or if it was just hiding. I'm really sorry. I felt guilty immediately afterwards.

When I was a child I would dig small deep holes in the yard, which grasshoppers would for some reason hop into en masse, be unable to escape and cook to death in the sun. It was fucked up but I don't really feel bad because that was on my parents for not beating me. As an adult I ran over a raccoon that near teleported out in front of my car in the middle of the night and I wish it didn't happen but I also don't feel that bad because I didn't even have time to react fucker just dove under my tires.
