What's being a veterinarian like? Is becoming one worth it?
>>

You spend all day killing animals I’ve heard
>>
>>5170192
It not worth it, you'll see neglected animals weekly. Sad shit, most people dont deserve to have pets
>>
My sister was a vet tech and she hated it had to get care for cat bites twice, lots of euthanasia, and dealing with people who's negligence led to their pet getting sick or hurt. The only good money to be had is if you are wealthy enough to start your own practice.
>>
I guess dog stylist is the only profession where you can work with animals but don't have to witness suffering every day
>>
In a rich area I bet it's fun with the occasional sad day of having to give a doggy a dogbortion or put down a 28 year old cat or whatever.
In poor areas it's probably hell. People bringing in their entire extended familia and then berating you for not saving their dog who was shot and run over and shot again despite them also not wanting to spend more than $20 on the visit. Or refusing to pay for pain meds or refusing to have sutures redone after they refused to listen to your advice and have the animal confined and put in a cone after a surgery. Or having to put young, healthy animals down because the owners just don't care or seeing obvious signs of neglect and owners who really don't give a shit, lots of broken legs or feet and owners are just like "oh she always limping guey its no big deal esse"
>>
You'll learn that a lot of people have absolutely no business having pets.

How do you become a dog stylist?

Get certified and look for a job

There is a lot of depression amongst veterinarians lol
>>

kinda bumms me out thinking that some kid dreams of becoming a vetenarian because it likes animals, puts in the work and studies hard etc. only to find out that most of it involves putting down animals or patching up neglected ones to give them back to their shitty owners
>>
It's largely either euthanizing animals, or dealing with emotional people that don't want to euthanize their obviously dying animal.
