is there any reason we don't just kill seagulls to protect baby sea turtles?

you hear everyone bitching about how much of a threat they are to sea turtle conservation but I've never seen anyone advocate for seagull culling

Nobody says this. Seagulls are the least of the problems for turtle conservation. The species has been doing fine with them around longer than humanity has existed ten fold. If you want to help turtles, tell third worlds to stop trashing up beaches and stealing their eggs en mass instead of stopping natural selection.

Seagulls are our friends, turtles are reptiles.

Seagulls are birds, birds are reptiles. Once a lizard always a lizard.
