of course there was the 1350s and the century to recovery from the plague.
You look at super project skyscrapers of today and a castle seems kinda tame. except they werent used for office space. they were used to garrison and train troops and troop supplies and the people of the land if barbarians did stoopid stuff. and mebe the occasional mansion.

Animal frien is in critical condition in hospital. Massive internal hemorrhaging. CT scan shows small thing on spleen but seemingly not drastic enough to account for bleeding. Radiologist will examine scans tomorrow. Until then is being given blood, and clotting agents.
