The previous thread had some people speculating on scenarios where fluffies get the upper hand in the world and the only way that happens is with spiteful aliens. Once humans gained gene editing they were supposed to create immortal philosopher god-kings with photographic memory and the capacity for infinite wisdom. Instead corporations created monstrous, lesser perversions of humans so we could feel like gods in comparison. Turns out that we were on a timer and whatever successor race we produced would be what aliens politic with. Earth gets fluffy ambassadors and humans get cucked out of space politics. Fluffies have no sense of being used as political pawns by the extraterrestrials and none of what they want has to do with what mankind created and maintains. Humans are no longer allowed things above what a fluffy can understand, unless it directly facilitates their demands. So humans lose a lot of infrastructure but are still allowed a power grid so that fluffies can have wawm housies.
