did the recent spate of collabs along with the discord business mark a significant shift in anyone else's ability to enjoy the twins? i'm trying to re-establish equilibrium after this incredibly brutal week of ls and questionable choices on the twins' part but it's tough going. my main worry is that their willingness to let just about anything happen on their streams might easily be preventing them from recognizing how good their streams can actually be under more selective circumstances. the twins have produced some absolutely flawless streams but lately they've also produced some real junk and i think the differences are mostly lost on them.

the hashtag section of the streams is bothersome to me on many levels, but i think what i dislike about it most is just how cavalierly it shows people treating the twins. if you're going to presume to treat the twins as inspiration for your 'art', try to put a little effort into what you're doing. all this sloppy trash that treats the two as figures of fun or as fodder for twitter likes comes off to me as nothing less than an attempt by people nowhere near as interesting or talented as the twins to drag them down to their level under the subterfuge of playful ribbing and 'ironic' low-quality fan art. even the earliest fan art bugged me for this reason. if you're just following the twins for entertainment why not just find something more entertaining than them to follow instead? it wouldn't be hard.

You guys need to cut this parasocial connection you have to the twins asap. Once they think they're "friends" with someone, that's it. There's no changing their mind.
