How do you get out of a month long anxiety crisis induced by intrusive toughts without falling for addictive shit?I am trying to go running but it's hard to mantain because the anxiety makes me very tired, i tried numbing everything away with junk food and cheap entertainment, it worked for a few days but the intrusive toughts are back.I have no friends and i don't want to bother my family with this bullshit, i have a doctor apppointment soon because i need to get a blood test, should i tell him about this?, if there is a non addictive medicine i would take it.
>>24700562Are you talking about instrusive OCD thoughts? Well, I only got over then after taking medications.
look into resistance trainingrunning is dogshit in comparison and dont let some retard convicne you otherwise
>>24700580You won't train your OCD away bucko.
Delete all of the little girl cartoon images saved on your hard driveStop watching animeExercise a littleOh wow, look at that, your life is better.
>>24700587>just touch grass broNot a cure for OCD, unfortunately.
have you tried people watchingit can be relaxing believe it or nothttps://youtu.be/mqxpb13kMc4
>>24700579i'd say OCD adjacent, not really the stuff i see commonly cited as OCD but reading about it fells familiar, what meds did you take? any addictive feelings? i know i would easily fall for that stuff.>>24700580>resistance trainingis it better for anxiety and intrusive toughts?
>>24700562Remember: A lot of the thoughts you have are momentary and inconsequential, understanding this has brought me greater peace into my life.Understand that many thoughts do not matter, don't try to ignore them, but also do not let them drown you. Observe your thoughts, try to understand their origin, and carefully think if they truly do matter, and then let them wash away.
>>24700609i will try it guess

>>24700610Well, the standard treatment for OCD is SSRIs. For me addiction wasn't an issue and the side effects were worth it. That being said, talk to a psychiatrist if you can. Make sure to tell the doc that you have an anxiety disorder and not anything schizophrenia related.
>>24700618the problem is that i think they really do matter on some level, i know that holding on to them just harms me but they are difficult to ignore when they cuase me an adrenaline and norepinephrine rush
>>24700632will also try this i guess
>>24700650I know going to the psychiatrist and taking meds sucks, but once you have obsessive thoughts that last months there are few things you can do.
>>24700642Well, can you control these problems; can you do anything about them?If not, then you should try to relax about them, try to ride the wave, as they say.If you can do something about them, then you should still chill out, even if you may feel like you are being lazy. You must understand that you will not progress in your life quest faster by being anxious, anxiety leads to paralysis, and paralysis will make you wait for something that doesn't exist.
>>24700697I cannot control these problems and i'm trying to chill out, the problem i can't even if i try.
>>24700580CHARLATAN!
>>24700716Then try again, never stop trying, stop trying and you loseYou'll get discouraged, but these are simply feelings, let feelings pass over you
>>24700562You should really say a professional, OP. Medication can really help. You don't have to keep living like this.
>>24700562they are unlikely to prescribe u anything actually addictive for ur first psych med.usually benzos ect are reserved for ppl where everything else has failed to help.if they wanna give u an SSRI I reccomend sertraline as the side effects are less crappy than others in my personal experience but different ppl get different effects from the same drug.don't believe all the shit u hear online about SSRI meds making u into a zombie these usually come from ppl who were put on shit they didn't need or ppl who are on them long term in high doses.if u just need something for a few months to help u get over a rough patch then generally they are fine.SSRIs can have some withdrawal effects if taken for long times in high doses but if u just take 50mg sertraline for a few months there will be no withdrawal.if the intrusive thoughts are extremely bad they may offer a low dose antipsychotic, if that is the case aripirazole seems to cause less problems like anhedonia and weight gain.
>>24700562running and exercise typically help me but if that doesnt work for you, at least temporarily, there is only one answer
fucking retarded faggots in this thread shilling goypills. exercise > goypills, listen to me OP
>>24700562Most doctors will just throw pills at you if you tell them you have mental problems. Some of them are so destructive, they leave permanent side effects that stay after you stop taking them. Some give you erectile dysfunction. Don't go to a doctor for mental help unless you are suicidal.>>24700609That is for old retired men. OP is too young to be allowed in their club yet.

>>24700659>>24700750>>24700803>>24700809>>24700925Thank you anons for the help, i will talk to the doc in a few days and get some mild med, i will force myself to run in the meanwhile. I will take the meds only if i don't notice enough improvements after two weeks of exercise. One thing i just realized is that a lot of the toughts processes that led me here have been part of me for a long time so i don't know if i will be able to get over this easily, wish me good luck anons.
>>24703986glad ur gonna try resolve it with lifestyle changes first :)its important to remember that if u start an SSRI that u still gotta do most of the hard work yourself, antidepressants are only supposed to allow you to fix the problem they won't do it for u. please bear in mind that the meds may make it worse for a couple of weeks before they start making it better.if u get any suicidal impulses during this time: please remind you that its the meds talking and u don't actually wanna do it.godspeed anon
