not all of them, of course, but yeah I had noticed the pattern
what gets me is they never seem to realise their trends are largely synthetic, and designed to harm them in some way:
>veganism, vaping, age-gap moral panic, climate depression
harm to fertility
>Y2K tech, digital detox
reduced exposure to anti-mainstream narratives
>worship of African American culture, xanax, retarded slang, short-form content dopamine down-regulation
anti-intellectualism to harm economic attainment

and the list goes on and on
it's an endless IC mind war against them, and they buy it every time, because they have no pre-9/11 frame of reference as to what's normal, so they can't see how artifical and abnormal their entire lives are

but there's nothing inherently wrong with the Zoomers, they're just unfortunate enough to be the most psyopped, mind-raped, programmed to self-destruct generation in the history of the species

it'd be easier to help them if they weren't so hostile and shallow - they just jump straight to projecting their own fear of ageing onto the older generations as a thought-terminating cliché, that they never have to address their own shortcomings
prime example of that ITT
all they really have to define themselves as a generation is that they're younger than millennials, even though they're also adults themselves now, and have less to show for it
the fact that all of their subcultures were recycled hand-me-downs from ones before their time was disturbing

also I'm not sure why they're so afraid of ageing - their contribution to the competency crisis isn't really going to be a problem, because they're never going to be in a position of power over the society given the size of Gen Y; Z was never designed to be a 'manager generation'
they're really just there to be confused and distracted enough to allow for sweeping changes to be made to Western society

The zoomers I see on the internet are basically fuckheads. But the ones I've met and dealt with IRL are fine. Which leads me to believe that the ones who are fuckheads on places like here are probably okay IRL, as well.
Generation squabbles are for sheep.

I liked y2k tech and aesthetics before it was cool and moved on because tiktok normies caught on and instead of something alien and nostalgic it became commodified. I still like them, but there's this lame association with it now, and everything new that comes out with that aesthetic feels more forced and trend-chasing.

I somewhat tried to "digital detox" at one point with a dumbphone (also before it became such a trend I think), but moved on because they just don't have as private software available for them and I barely use my phone now anyway. I still try to "detox" by blocking sites sometimes because it's just a generally healthy thing to do. The internet needs to be treated as something unhealthy in unlimited amounts like candy. Our parents didn't grow up with the internet so they didn't know how to parent around it. The "detoxing" stuff is us trying to figure out how to parent ourselves regarding new addictive tech.

Never did the rest of that gay stuff except
>short-form content dopamine down-regulation
I do this with imageboards and probably instant messaging has such an effect as well.

>also I'm not sure why they're so afraid of ageing
We had a couple of our most important developmental years taken by lockdowns (affected some more than others), then after that wasted most of our time scrooling. At the point in our lives many of us are at our parents already just about got married and had kids. We can feel the time we have left to do something with our lives ticking away.
>>why don't you do something then
Most zoomers don't want kids and have no idea what they "want to do" with their lives, so they just want to preserve themselves until they can figure it out, I guess. Why they don't want to have kids and feel less sense of purpose from previous generations, I don't know. I guess it has to do with society becoming less cohesive and meaningful. Maybe also the fact that they spend so much time scrooling that would've otherwise been used to have internal monologue about what they want to do. And of course poor affordability and not actually having a need for children late in our lives in a way people did before social security was a thing (like when people still had kids during previous economic depressions).

Aging of the face shouldn't matter so much for men, but for some reason the male beauty standard much of the generation adheres to is that being a gay looking twink is the ideal way a man should look (Timothee Chalamet, Tom Holland). Also, much of the generation is just genuinely afflicted by homosexuality and are worried about "twink death."

>they have no pre-9/11 frame of reference as to what's normal
Can an older gen anon explain what people mean when they say pre- and post- 9/11? I'm aware about the security state NSA changes and less feeling of safety in the US, but what changed because of 9/11 that was so drastic to change how zoomers grow up?

>Can an older gen anon explain what people mean when they say pre- and post- 9/11?
Early millennial here, just a year and some change shy off Gen X.
Remembering 9/11 well as I was a young adult. Of course I realized at the time that this was a world changing event in some way, but HOW exactly wouldn't be clear until years, if not decades later.
The best way I can describe it is that, in hindsight, pre-2001 society didn't have fear as its default. Up until that faithful day in September, culturally we were still in the 90s, which I regard as "the old world". That day the old world ceased to exist. Pandora's box for psyops and divide & conquer opened, something that shifted into an even higher gear in 2020.
The thing is that in the old world people were arguably more bluepilled. Sure, elites and kikes also pulled most of the strings back then, but it wasn't so painfully obvious yet. Or at least people weren't confronted with it all the frigging time. The lack of smartphones definitely was a major factor to this, but even with dialup access to the early internet on some bulky grey computer with a CRT monitor people generally lived their lives more in.... real life.
Many examples of that can be named, but what it all boils down to is that now that we live in the shitshow that is the present time, the old world felt more real.
Humans were less obnoxious. There were more spontaneous interactions. Chasing girls was okay and didn't branded men as creeps, or worse. People didn't have to mince their words, self-censorship was therefore not really a thing. That's perhaps that fear I previously mentioned that sneaked into the collective mind. Cancel culture and whatnot. The lingering feeling of having to walk on thin ice. Whereas people used to just figuratively jump all over the place if they felt like it.
Then there is the surveillance. If you think it's bad now, it only has just begun. Deep down we know the next step to an even newer world is near. Very near.
