Iceland is one of those Nord countries where if you were a guest in their home, they would eat that in front of you and wouldn't offer any.

those 2 mystery scoops probably contain some

I'd rather roast its cunt and eat that than eat the head
>>
>>24910247
and that's a good thing, would you actually want to eat that shit?
>>
>>24910252
The right scoop is PROBABLY a mashed potato, what's on the left however is a mystery
>>
>>24910253

lol no.

In America it's customary to bring your own frozen pizza or hot pockets when you are a guest

it's customary to bring some food to hosts here as well
I think this is basic politeness

>The right scoop is PROBABLY a mashed potato, what's on the left however is a mystery
The one on the right looked like ice cream or butter to me at first. I guess potato makes more sense.

I don't know what that other scoop is either. I'd have to figure it would be some sort of vegetable that actually grows in Iceland, and there probably aren't too many. It might be something people outside that country aren't too familiar with. Its gotta be some sort of cold-hardy plant of some kind. Pureed carrot, maybe? The color is a bit faded from what I would expect carrot to look like though. But can't think of what else it might be.

None of it looks very appetizing. But if you are starving to death you'd make do with it.

that yellow type of turnip, I forgot the English name for it
>>
>>24910259
Looks like hutspot a mix between potato and carrots misses some cravy tho
>>
>>24910259
it's actually mashed rutabaga, a sort of turnip
it's actually not the worst thing on earth, but definitely an acquired taste
>>
>>24910259
Lamb's head clearly is icelandic-grown, native icelandic lamb.
I tried guessing. Didn't work, it's something called "rutabaga", it's like a root or whatever.
>>24910257
Usually, guests bring things like alcohol, something that isn't hard to carry, in slavic countries

well, we bring both foods and drinks
like wine, juice, cakes, chocolates and fruits
thnigs like that
I'd bring pizza only if I'm extra familiar with the host tho, it's kinda less formal than what we usually bring

I can buy Lamb head, but why should I? Lamb is sold in two categories here at the butchers or in the supermarket: With head and liver, or without. It's pretty much my favorite meat, but other family members don't love it so much, that's why I rarely eat it. I will try making it for myself in the Airfryer soon (haven't tried it yet). One thing that pisses me off is that it's between 50-75% none shit.
>>
>>24910268
I meant bone shit, sorry. Especially the ribs. But ribs are my favorite part because of the nice fat. Lamb fat is the best, I love going to town on a bunch of lamb fat after everything has been eaten, bonus points if there's still some garlic and rosemary left in the fat. I don't drink anymore, but drinking a bottle of nice local red wine like Vranac (usually it's too heavy for me, but it goes great with lamb imho) together with a fat piece of lamb is one of the great pleasures in life.

looks good. especially the head. I eat pig heads a lot.

heavily tannic red wines go well with fatty food indeed
here we produce tannic amber wines from white grapes varietal, also pairs exquisitely with fatty food

We just love living in a cave paying 15% interest on everything but also being raped by anarcho capitalist low t mob boss fishery owners and Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn (the pedophile party) and Miðflokkurinn (the Project 2025 party)

the US backed Iceland against UK fishery encroachment a while ago IIRC
Given that the curent US administration is all about revisionism, they could have revoked their EEZ recognition or at least threaten with its revocation as a leverage
it would be funny to see the US desupporting the UK on Falklands and respupporting the UK on waters around Iceland

based lamb meat appreciator
ever had arrosticini? lamb meat skewers, i could eat a 100, so good
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campo_Imperatore
this place is amazing to visit if you like sheep and lamb meat, theres a "restaurant" there that's basically just a butcher shop (also sells sheep cheeses) and outside there are grills you can use, they even light them for you so you can grill the meat you just bought. There's dozens of grills so it's often packed, people drinking and grilling meat in the mountains, one of the best things I ever experienced
you can even drive up there in a camper and stay however long you want, one day i will probably fuck off into the italian mountains and live like a king on cheap food and wine while tanning my balls in the sun all day laughing at wagies online
