>>24924371>mosinI don't know how dense the bush is where you are but where I am you won't get a shot past 40 yards. And given the Mosin isn't sporterized, I'd immediately rule that one out. Why lug all that extra weight up and down mountains? Then either of the other two would suffice.
>>24924420Its a pretty common hunting regulation because FMJ will often just punch a small entry hole in and a small exit hole out. Its not considered human as the animal will take much longer to bleed to death and may run pretty far before that happens.
>>24924422*and by running pretty far I mean that you may not be able to recover the animal

>>24924429Takes care of the trees too
>>24924371Depends on the environment. If you’re stalking them in the woods use the 30-30. If you might have to shoot from a distance use the 308. Since it has a scope.
>>24924426alot of times i just shoot them off my deck in the morning. stupid things keep eating my peach treea
I hunt with a .308 (MATEN). The forest is so thick scopes are useless. I carry 4 20 round mags.

>>24924371I'd pick the shotgun personally and I'd try to do my hunting from a stand or a blind and ambush them up close, after looking for areas they are already grazing for nibbled branches and piles of poo. I wouldn't want to risk having to chase down a wounded deer to get my meals. I don't actually know anything about guns or hunting though.
>>24924371You should use the one that weighs the least since you are out of shape and will have to walk while carrying it for quite a distance.
>>24924371308.The only one that 'might' offer better ballistics (if you reload) is the nagant. And the 308 is a round you'll find everywhere in the world in an assortment of loadings.
>>24924371Whatever you do OP, DO NOTI REPEATDO NOTUSE .30-06.I don’t know if you pay attention to the news. But a .30-06 is proven to barely break the skin and doesn’t even make an exit wound on a man’s neck. Aka the softest tissue in the human body. Using a .30-06 wouldn’t even break the much tougher deer hide, let alone its much more fiber laden muscles. The fbi, I don’t know if you know about those guys, but they don’t think a .30-06 round has near enough velocity to provide an exit wound at 125 yards. Let alone from a deer stand across a 300 yd field. You probably need to go with an elephant gun just to be on the safe side. Those are proven to be really strong bullets that don’t break apart mid flight.
>>24924372>spend money buying a gun>spend money buying bullets>spend money zeroing in your sights>spend time and money hunting deer>spend money on food and drink while waiting for who knows how long>spend money getting the deer butchered buy the meat

>>24924411If you were proficient you would have gotten the neck
According to my government the top one is a weapon of war because it is black. It should be able to rip a deer in half.
Use your Excalibur crossbow if max range is 50 yards, those shoot that hole in hole at that range easy.
>>24924411Bruh, you killed Bambi
ditch the gun. hunt your deer with a sword. try to piss one off and get it to charge at you, then dodge to the side and slice its legs off as it charges
>>24924371what kind of terrain? .30-30 is plenty for hills and woods where you can expect the shooting to be within 150 yards. if you're gonna be hunting open fields and might have to reach out further, then whichever of the other two you can shoot better (both calibers perform about the same)
>>24924442>80% lean beef>20% beef fatIt's a normal mix for burger patties. Go be a retard somewhere else.
>>24924371It's not really cheaper to hunt for meat between licenses, land leases, hunting/camping equipment and then most take the carcass to a processor to turn it into ground and cube steak, which you can do yourself but that's more equipment and time invested. But there are still several good reasons to do so like getting natural, unadulterated meat without hormones and antibiotics. To me it's much more humane to shoot an animal that lived a natural life up until the bullet drops him versus the nasty conditions of factory farms and when you shoot and clean your own deer you have a deeper respect for the meat that it's giving you and you won't waste a morsel of it. Plus it's a good skill to have because of shtf then you have a chance of feeding yourself, stockpiles of deenz won't feed you forever.
>>24924371Personally, I prefer the Daisy. If you're not up close and personal, working for your meal, it's just cheating.
>>24924371Bolt action is light, take it, you'll appreciate that when trotting through the woods plus the scope will spot deer better
>>24924371>im leaning towards the mosin tbqhUnless the Mosin is very specifically binned or modified, the accuracy at range will be shit.I know what you're planning, by the way.

>>24924432>alot of times i just shoot them off my deck in the morning. Then wtf is the point of this thread, retard? You already own the rifles, just use them until you find one you like you dumb bitch
>>24924371First of all anon, Trump being "president" doesn't matter. Every president since Kennedy has been pocketed. All but 4 or 5 HOR seats are owned by aipac. There are women and niggers in the supreme court. At every level, the jews and their golems run this country. You should hate kikes, not whichever red or blue golem they prop up every 4 years to take the blame for their evil. Now, if you're hunting deer, I recommend your .308. It might not be as interesting to shoot as your Mosin, however the ballistics are better for deer, and also, you'll have a better MOA. Furthermore, you have a scope already fixed, which when zeroed, will make aiming for the deer's heart or lungs a lot easier. I would recommend you get some FMJ rounds and go zero your scope at the range. FMJ tends to tear less of the meat up, even better if it's steel core. Lead tips are cheap but you don't want soft lead in your deer if you're going to eat it. It's also illegal to hunt deer with lead tips in some states. Make sure you have a freezer that can handle a deer, and know how to butcher one. If you don't you can pay a butcher to do it, he might even do it for some of the meat, or ask a family member who knows how. Hope this helps.
