Hey, I turned 19 this year and my parents gave me a deadline of 12/31 to move out.But apartment rents in our city all appear to start at around $1400/mo.I'm not sure how I'm supposed to afford these rents, but my parents insist that's not their problem.
You can't live in the city on a starting wage, so naturally, you move out to a town.
>>24941496I'll rent you a studio for $325 all bills paid
You have to go to your city office and tell them you are homeless.
If you’re 19 and you want to make it in life, you gotta get on 1 of these 5:1. Practical trades school/apprenticeship (including oilfield, merchant marines, commercial fishing, forestry, etc.)2. Military 3. College/university4. Entrepreneurship5. Political activism, content creation, or other creative/freelance endeavor (extremely high risk, almost certainly unlikely for you)Worrying about anything else is a waste of time for you right now. You need to find a vocation so you can make a living or else you’re going to regret it big time in 10 years. You have 10 years before you have to pick a lane, but those 10 years are going to go by fast and you’ll probably need about 5 to establish yourself in a path. Don’t fuck around and waste time.
>>24941496Move to a small town in the middle of nowhere. Bonus points if it has good weather and a lake or mountains. Learn a trade from a local tradesman with no apprentices. Bingo, problem solved for life. You're welcome.
>>24941496>but my parents insist that's not their problem.Exactly, and all the abuse they'll receive in nursing home isn't yours either.
>>24941499It’s in America, they truck vagabonds out of state borders or they force into work prisons>>24941496You can start sucking cocks to gay people for 20 bucks a blowjob. Do just 100 blowjobs in a month and you’ll afford rent. Otherwise start knocking at every restaurant to get a job as a servant
>>24941496Are your parents boomers? Gen X?Sounds like something they'd do.
>>24941496Get a remote job, any remote job, and leave the country,
>>24941504Gen X, yeah.
>>24941504They made him all by themselves, they weren’t born rich or anything, and they probably left their own parents’s house at majority agethey expect the new generations to be able to do what they did
>>24941496Same thing happened with me.I joined the Army at 18.
>>24941496Shit I have a spare room OP if all goes south, as long as you're a christian and hate jews and are aware of the satanic world order and the beast system that is soon to be implemented. No drugs (including medication of any kind, including weed) no foids no children no trannies no kikes, only vidya and tendies, no sexual degeneracy or degenerate NPC shit like TV shows. Free as long as you exercise (LIFT) and better yourself spiritually. But I'm miles away and you're an american, so maybe an american anon can help you
>>24941496So this is why most people are sad, horrible minded little people withcold hearts who only care about money, possessions and egoficial things. Blame your parents
>>24941496I rent a room in Paris (France) for 250 euro a month. Rules are: No smoking, No drugs, No hanging with friends in room, and no bringing sex home. It’s a place to sleep while studying or starting a job
>>24941500The big issue is they don't want to co-sign fafsa loans for college, so I'd be on the hook for whatever degree. I was thinking mechanical engineering, but like I dunno if I can afford it now.
>>24941496Do seggs work. Yo bussy will make rent in won week. Truckers tip mo
>>24941496Sorry that you have bad parents. Mine let me move back in when I was 30 and they haven't charged me a dime in rent for half a decade now, and they pay for my food too. I have zero dollars to my name and I will never change that.
>>24941496your basically fucked and will live in poverty your whole life. best outcome for you would be to work until you die and hopefully set your kids up to be in a better position
>>24941512College is a scam, don’t do that! If you need money you start working straight away.
>>24941496kill your parents then kill yourself, now you have no problem and you teach an important lesson to people- don't fucking breed if you aren't willing to help secure a future for your children.
>>24941508>Same thing happened with me.>I joined the Army at 18.>joining the army of ZOGLMAO, it's unironically more honorable to be in jail.
>>24941496You need a gf or a good friend to sign a lease. A two bedroom split between the two is ~800 a month which isnt terrible if you're working state min wage.
>>24941514I guess they might mellow out when we're all older, but right now they've just kinda lost their minds. I'm not even against moving away, but it's like I need to figure out how to square the financial situation. And college.
>>24941500That's actually pretty good advice.Fuck the military unless you're family is in politics, though. Unless you want to be a bullet-catcher instead of a pencil-pusher. And even then, I'd make sure I was someone's favorite nephew or something first. Maybe give a lil sucky-sucky to make sure I don't get killed. I mean, at that point, you're already joining the military; everyone already knows you're gay. It's like being a cop except maybe you didn't spend *as much* time in your own locker in highschool.
>>24941496day trade
>>24941520I would recommend against (((college))) with my entire being. But if you want to pile debt onto yourself that you can never get rid of and actually be a slave, be my guest. I took two semesters of community college and I would rather drink rat poison than ever go back to (((school))). If you actually want to work a (((job))) then I would highly recommend trucking, as you get a free apartment and decent enough money.
>>24941507Minimum wage in 1972 was equivalent to$200/hr in today's money. Boomers grew up in an entirely different universe then their kids trying to live on their own today.

>>24941496If I were you:start here >>24941500, make sure whatever it is can sustain you for a year, so military's a great place to start. Airforce is easy mode, Marine corps is retard mode (if you're not smart and need someone to unfuck your life, go to the Corps, if you can do it yourself you'll hate the Corps.).Then, when you're set up with food, shelter, clothing, and disposable income (again, military's GREAT for this, 4 years of stable employment at what's just a job now is 100% worth it, get an MOS in something useful if you can, a B-MOS in something useful if you have to), work on personal finance.>balance sheet>cash flow statement>budgetdownload free templates, fill them out. Then, get SECURED credit cards, and credit builder loans, get a line of credit (that you use none of except for turbo emergencies) and student loans (yes, even now). It's fucking worth it 1000% to build your FICO 8 score quickly. Never miss a payment, only spend what you make, and use the credit cards to extend you if some crazy shit happens. From here, save to 6 months of expenses.>but anon, militaryFuck you save to 40,000. Live like you're poor, save everything you fucking can. Don't invest a fucking dollar until you learn to save like this. It's fucking worth it.Next, figure out career (if you haven't figured it out already you're too late to "plan brilliantly" or what the fuck ever). Do the personal finance and credit building FIRST. You will NEVER regret not being poor more than not being rich.Once you have that career figured out, transition into it. Remember, it's not on the system to explain to you how to use it and point it out in perfect order, we fucked that up about 40 years ago, you gotta have self determination because we fucking suck and made it bad for external LOC people. Then, when your career's getting going, focus on investing. Remember that money you're constantly saving (PAST 40k)? Now you should dump it into>tax liens>SPY>cash flow assets
>>24941518Not all of us are gay and take nigger convict cock like you.
>>24941496That's unfortunate to hear, but it should at least light a fire under your ass. I'm about to list one of my rooms for rent and am expecting to get ~$600 per month. Surely there's arrangements like this to be found where you live.
>>24941496Become a farm laborer. There's been a shortage since Trump deported the illegals and most of those jobs offer free or significantly reduces board and rent.No I am not joking. If youve got no other options this might be your best bet.
>>24941524just zoom out! Before the boomers there were generations of literal child workers, today young people don’t get it even half as bad.
>>24941532The "it could be worse" mindset is not very productive. Why not think "it could be better", it used to be better so its possible. It could even be better than before but its not, it sucks and everything keeps getting worse.
>>24941496
>>24941496Why don't you blow a job!?!
>>24941528Also, figure out where you want to stay at/build up assets in. Remember, you can't pack your house with you when you move to another state.I figured out my career, and then figured out my state, then figured out my personal finance, and now I live in a really, really nice place because of it.It might take time to move to the place you want to be at. Remember, W-2/1099 income can only get you so far, you have to get a business entity (a C Corp is really all you need, look into using S-Corps for taxes if you want), build out a business, and start hiring wagies to make you money. That's usually some combination of>state/federal contracting>state/federal subsidies/tax credits>a truly, materially useful or cashflowing business (tourist heavy places do well with rental cars, tech heavy places do well with HVAC/IT/Electric, etc.)>connections (the biggest cheat code)>how to connectionsStraight up>be at work>go to conferences>not be at work>go to conventions, meet-ups, and other social gatherings>be a normie if you have to, be a cool person if you can (took me a long fucking while to stop being un-likeable, still am sometimes)>make friends>really get into "the thing" you're doing (game nights, get into the games, tech, get into the tech, etc.)>show an active interest in people's situations (literally use a CRM software if you can't stand them underneath it all)>actively help themeventually you get to the point that people just go out of their way to introduce you to contacts, involve you in something useful (usually useless but sometimes really good), new jobs, etc. This has gotten me income I really don't fucking deserve on the merits, and now all I do actively work towards deserving it while gathering new sources.Last piece of advice - if you're a piece of shit now, forgive your parents for doing what they're doing kicking you out. If you're not and they're sabotaging you really, don't ever forgive them. Get a wife, get kids. GLHF
>>24941533>The "it could be worse" mindset is not very productiveI mean, just look at OP, he is completely homeless and penniless. As poor as an illegal immigrant running out as a third world orphanageYet he wants to go to college !Boomers had it worse in this regards, nobody would have give a loan to a poor fag like that to do college, back then
>>24941534I was going to say I've posted four times but my ID changed probably because I lost wifi connection for a few minutes. That probably did it.
>>24941496>I'm not sure how I'm supposed to afford these rents, but my parents insist that's not their problem. If I raised a son who could not fend for himself, I would have failed him. Likely, your parents aren't the sort of assholes you think they are. Everyone here will say they're cold, heartless, we might even get some reddit-tier narcissist accusations. In reality, they're old, they have no retirement savings, they're not very intelligent, and they're floundering. With you gone, there's several hundred bucks more in the budget each month, or they naively believe there will be (same diff), and they'll be more financially stable, meanwhile having "pushed you from the nest, you'll start flying" and they'll have engaged in good parenting too. It's true that you don't have a fucking clue how to survive on your own, and you will plummet, but they're not intelligent enough to anticipate that correctly, and if it were true and they were responsible to support you (partially, fully, whatever) then their last hail mary plan for not spiraling into bankruptcy and eventual homelessness is out of bounds... which is unthinkable. People don't fail, families do. And yours is failing.

>>24941496So you spent a year proving you're a worthless leech? Kids who help around the house, have a job/an or go to school, and offer to contribute to rent/utilities after they are adults usually have parents willing to let them stay until they build enough resources to step out on their own

>>24941549>some boomer i met at a village party last night told me they can't sell their house (price too high) because 'nobody wants to work anymoreThe boomer could lower the asking price but they are greedy. Nice trolling but the reason why nobody wants to work anymore is because the juice is not worth the squeeze. Yeah sure starting your life in 1970s while housing was still low is a good deal. It doesn't matter if mortgage rates back then were like 12% the housing prices skyrocketed at least 500% since they paid for them.
>>24941503>work prisonsI fucking wish
>>24941549>told me they can't sell their house (price too high) because 'nobody wants to work anymore'. iThis should strike dread and terror into everyone the moment they hear it. If only it were boomer stupidity. And I'm not denying that there's no reason to want to work (nor that people don't want to). If it is both true that no one wants to work and that people don't want to work because the pay is not high enough (we commonly hear this about restaurant work in the United States), it's neither side's fault. Restaurants can't afford to pay more (they'd go under), and people can't afford to accept the wages (they'd go under). This is a signal that the economy is about to drop dead. Both are telling the truth, it's not just a negotiating position. It will start with one or two industry sectors (has started, in fact), but it won't stop there. We're fucked in ways none of us can even properly imagine.

>>24941500Strong advice. Fastest route to financial stability is oilfield. Get an entry level job on a wireline truck in the Permian and work your way up. You’ll need to be mentally and physically tough, avoid drugs, save as much money as possible, and be comfortable in brutal work conditions. It’s worth the effort long term if you’re tough. Lot of entry level oilfield options that do not require a degree. Wireline is arguably the best. Electrician is another strong path if oilfield work is outside your pain tolerance threshold. Both routes open the door to eventually starting your own small business, cash flowing the business for as long as you want, then selling the business if you’re competent. College is a waste of time outside of highly technical degrees like engineering. Even then you’re eating a different kind of shit throughout that path. You’ll need to thrive in a highly political environment. Expect additional friction on climbing the corporate ladder if you’re a straight White male. Don’t prioritize college unless you’re unshakably set on a specific degree and career or you’ll throw in the towel. Owning your own small business is a worthwhile endeavor if you can put in the time and effort to get there.

>>24941576Inflation bro. I bought right after the market collapse in 08. What did you think the point of buying a home was? It's about locking in the "rent" for the future. Only thing that changes is home insurance/property taxes.
>>24941586I'm not a zoomer, i'm a millennial and i know what i'm talking about. Boomers don't magically die at 71. They are still working as i see them all the time. People are living longer these days thanks to modern medicine and better health habits. All the unhealthy boomers are long dead but that doesn't mean they healthy ones are not. People are going to live longer in America and there's a massive healthcare industry that is catering to this. And to address your repeated points again. I have skipped working 20 years and i just need to figure out how to avoid wage slavery for another 30. I can do it because i'm white and white people can do anything they want in this world and succeed. It's just white boomers chose to work because they seen it as advantageous while my generation doesn't.

>>24941586>born in the supposed "richest country in human history">"you're nothing special">"you're not entitled to anything, goy"I don't think American soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy expected their grandchildren to be nothing special and only entitled to being debt slaves. They would think you are a scumbag.
>>24941585>parents should help make that possibleStarted my kid's college account, a 529 college plan, right after my kid was born. Every two weeks money gets automatically deposited into the account from my paychecks. My kid is gonna be set. My kid is only 5 and already has almost 20k in the account. My kid also has a life insurance plan that she can withdraw from when she gets older.
>>24941496Peak season for UPS and other companies is starting soon. Its a great start. If you're up to the task, being a driver is easy once you get it down and it pays extremely well. I make $46.98 on a high school diploma
>>24941496Join the coast guard or military.
>>24941589For real, though, it's good that you're doing that, anon.
>>24941496I quit going to work after I realized 90% of the time I'm just wasting my time doing pointless shit nobody cares about and not getting ahead in life.I worked there a lot over the past 12 years and the wagie community was a major factor in my decision to not work anymore. NEETs did it to an extent as well but WAGIES are far worse.Someone could give a long drawn out and factually accurate explanation of what would have to happen for me to even be able to one day buy a home and have a family and why working was fraudulent. The post would get a dozen responses of>WHY SHOULD YOU EAT?>when you know you know>economic collapse is coming>stack metals the end is nigh>keep waging faggot>100% eoy silver will reach 5k an ounceOr some equally long schizo post explaining numerology, using bible scripture and random posts here explaining how by the end of the year billions will be unemployed because of the AI.Here we are. After seeing the nothingburger today I came here just to watch the seething and suicide letters. It’s beyond EOY, the jobs didn't disappear, the banks didn't collapse (unfortunately), no more use cases and all the dirty laundry is out in the air now. It’s not going to be Millennial's Economic Paradise, it will not be the Roaring 20's all over again. The world will not be descending into hyper deflation and prosperity (as was obsessed over for months/years) it will be going on as usual with no major gains or rewards. I will enjoy watching wagies burn every step along the way. Why?Because those fucking idiots deserve it all.
>>24941592That's nice. My parents refused to even give my own inheritance money and called me entitled for not wanting to work.
>>24941594The coast guard is KINO but I heard it's harder to get in.
>>24941586technically the jew definition of generations says 49-65 is boomers. a period directly followed by the contraceptive genocide that started in the mid 60s. women's liberation, eh. and now the pension systems can't work as intended and we need dark migrant men galore. or war.
>>24941596I quit working because I would rather lie down and let the moss grow over my bones than have a job. It was that simple.
>>24941500>>24941496become a cop or tsa agent or join ICE. super easy to get hired and if youre starting young it sets you up for a career with a lot of promotions. tons of benefits and good money right out of the gate. plus theyre easy jobs, honestly. plus you get to be the one deciding who gets harassed/ticketed/arrested.
>>24941583I say throw anyone in jail who is paying less than $2000 a month for rent.If you're paying rent for less than $2000, prison
>>24941496Come live in my basement anon. Dont mind the locks on the outside of the door or the soundproofing.
>>24941599Boomers are older now so its around 70+ now. They were too young for the vietnam draft and too old for the wars in the middle east. Boomers got to partake in the booming globalist economy in the 80s and 90s which made them very rich and wealthy. When i graduated high school there was the Iraq war. So my generation was the ones who fought in that war. Zoomers don't even have a war like we do. All they have is the Iran war but it's not really an invasion and they didn't have to endure the insurgency which got Obama elected to bring the troops home. Boomers and zoomers have an easier life than we do. GenX still was able to scoop up some of the wealth the boomers could get while we missed out but they were of age during various wars so it's a trade off. But bottom line the best generation in the west was the boomers who had the economy work for them, no wars, no inflation like today and a life before technology and AI changed the world(for the worse in my opinion).
>>24941578Yet another larper>I don’t require guarantee nor dossier. No contract will be signed>you need to understand>you need to pay me hommage
>>24941597Well, anon, an inheritance is usually given after the parent passes away. You ever think that maybe they want you to, you know, make something of yourself, earn the inheritance?
>>24941606No this was inheritance money from my cousins that was technically mine. So at 18 they didn't give it to me. It's child abuse anon. I had to literally take my parents to court to get my money which of course i didn't do.
>>24941546How is he gonna pay for it? It's not advisable to saddle oneself with so much debt so early in life. The GI Bill, though.
>>24941607Oh. Then I would have most definitely taken them to court -- even if I had to cut lawns to be able to afford one.
>>24941595I had an anon that was interested a few years ago but he backed out because reasons - it'd be nice to have a /pol/tard in the building
>>24941496Get a job as an apprentice plumber or electrician through the union halls. It'll take a while to work your way up the scale but you get your certs on the job while getting paid. The best part is neither one is intrinsically hard work unless you're an electrician that works scaffolds which can be dangerous. If you can get out on your own after a few years it's not uncommon to make 125+ an hour fixing sinks and shitpipes which is way easier work than working oil rigging or mechanic work for less than half of that in environments with 0 climate control.
>>24941560>People need jobs retard. They need to be in a city to workIt boggles my mind how cucked city slickers are kek meanwhile Cletus in bumfuck nowhere just bought his 3rd Ford truck
>>24941609It's fucked. Boomers are so greedy because they took the money but wouldn't give me my share. I needed that money to get a starter car so i could get to work. The whole trope about how greedy boomers were is not fake. My father had massive credit card debt unknown to me as a young man. But boomers don't care since they have so much money.
>>24941602kek I like your moxie but what will actually happen is all those profiting from housing will be jailed. No more corporations allowed to own homes, no more REITs, no more slumlords.
>>24941607so you took em to court while living with them and you still want to live with them? hoping for what?
>>24941496>But apartment rents in our city all appear to start at around $1400/mo.Damn I wish rent was that low in my town. If I want to live within 15 miles of where I work, I'm looking at $1800-$1900/mo for a studio apartment with less than 600sqft (utilities not included).I have to actually leave the county to get rents below $1500/mo for a 1 bed 1 bath apartment with more than 600sqft. That's gonna be like a 30 mile drive to work while gas is getting more and more expensive all the time. For the record, I make $22/mo, paid biweekly. My take home pay each pay period is around $1200 after taxes and other deductions. So about $2400/mo (usually a little less), though sometimes there's 3 checks in one month, so it's not consistent. But it's not enough to live in town, and barely adequate for living 20-30 miles away. That's why I still live with my mom. I don't pay rent. I pay for most of the utilities, and do the grocery shopping, and a lot of the chores she can't do cause she's old and infirm now. She wouldn't be able to get the trash to the curb herself, or get the mail, or change her air filters in the furnace, even cleaning up after her cat would be a challenge that could potentially injure her. She's also hopeless with modern technology and would've been totally shit out of luck in the covid era where most of her important appointments were by zoom call which she was totally incapable of figuring out by herself. That said, I wish I could live independently. Living with your elderly mom really cramps your style as an adult man. I can't even go anywhere or do anything because she's so helpless. If I'm gone for more than a day or two she'd run out of fresh food (she refuses to eat frozen food) and would probably do something rash like trying to drive herself to the store only to fall and break her hip (for the third time in as many years). The thing is, she's not poor. Far from it. But she is miserly and tries to live as frugally as possible.
>>24941615I said i needed to take them to court which of course i didn't do. I was still very much a kid back then and what else do you want me to say? Growing up in America back in those days was a more peaceful sheltered life living in the suburbs.
>>24941616>I make $22/momeant $22/hr, obviously lol. I'm not a fruit picker from Guatemala. Though sometimes I feel as badly used as one.
>>24941524Holy shit $200???? They really did pull the ladder up behind them those stupid worthless old bastards
>>24941500Military should be the very last fucking resort.
>>24941496Mine said "you need to be out by xyz date and if you don't have anything lined up we'll drive you and drop you off at the homeless shelter" after I got out of the military and was trying to kill my drinking habit and find work in September 2008. Two decades later and they don't see their grandkids much and don't really understand why
>>24941572Some trade schools have campuses with dorms. If he can’t go to one of those he’ll just have to seek cheap housing and pay for it with a loan or with meager part-time wages. He’ll need roommates either way. For part-time jobs I strongly recommend security and loss prevention.
>>24941582It’s true. Military is the single most straightforward path to success if you aren’t a fuck up and learn to take some initiative, but /pol/ is full of retarded NEETs who seethe at Jews 24/7 so you can’t actually say that on this board.
>>24941619It's more like 12 dollars but still. The cost of living was a lot lower back then before inflation of today. A lot of boomers skipped high school to work with their GEDs for the opportunity to able to work and make money. Just being in school was a net waste of time in their minds. Could you imagine as kid refusing to go to school and having all these problems with your parents because of it? That's the boomers for you.
>>24941617don't let the disappointments get to you. life is full of bitter irony for some. my mother divorced my father and got herself a pretty artsy guy who is 3 years older than me. she died during covid and her legal husband inherited everything. certain kind of will that excludes children except if they insist on the obligate part. blabla, we will inherit when that husband dies. kek. do i sometimes wish to speed that up? oh boy.
>>24941528Army usually has the lowest enlistment standards and widest array of opportunities to do things which can help you post-service. I have a friend who for example was basically retarded, did Army intel enlistment, then got in an Ivy, and now he makes lime $350k a year working 20 hours per week in some niche finance/military research thing. That’s exceptional obviously but he couldn’t have done that in the Air Force. Air Force and Coast Guard are cushy but that’s all.
>>24941496Use a facebook group to find roommates. Every town/area has one for this. As much as you need roommates, someone out there is desperately trying to fill a room on their existing lease. It might sound awkward, but you get to know each other and adopt to boundaries quick. It's psychologically healthier to live with someone, and if you get along well, you end up making a very close friend for life. It's not normal to have your own place all to yourself at 19, even in the before times. Most people that age, if they don't live at home, have 2-3 roommates or they're literally bunked up in a dorm room together. This is an age where you're supposed to be experiencing intense nonstop socialization.I didn't live alone long term until I was 25. Most people I know didn't until their 30's.
/pol/tards don’t want to accept that if you’re born into the working class your only realistic paths to success are to demonstrate exceptional academic and social talent early, bust your ass in vocational training, or serve in the military and then do one or the other with a leg up. That’s it. There is no free lunch and this is the hand you were dealt.
>>24941593>If you're up to the task, being a driver is easy once you get it downHe won't be a driver, though. Driver positions are extremely coveted. There's a waiting list to get them. You have to join the local teamsters union to work at UPS as a warehouse employee or driver or seasonal driver assistant, which means advancement is a factor of seniority within the union. As a newbie you are getting the scut work. You will be in a warehouse unloading trailers and loading trucks and sorting boxes. The cushy jobs where you handle small parcels and can actually sit down go to lifers with bad joints. Driver job? Enjoy waiting like 5 years to even have a shot.
>>24941496Rape your parents.
On them: not understanding that the rental market is fucked thanks to immigration (that they likely voted for). Even with a roommate renting on minimum wage won't work. On you: Get a practical education, even if it's something short like a trade. Try to work out a deal where they house you while you get training. If you don't want to do anything than have fun being poor.
>>24941500>5. Political activism, content creation, or other creative/freelance endeavor (extremely high risk, almost certainly unlikely for you)Don't do political activism. You'll stain your reputation for life, and it's crowded and shilled enough that it's like winning a lotto ticket. The content creation/influencer thing isn't a bad idea as long as you steer clear of vulgarity and extremely divisive topics, at least until you've made it and it's your full time job. I say this because you can do it part time and it'll look good professionally and open up social networks. It should be a side hustle though.
>>24941628Nope the only way to "win" as in get rich was to be a scumbag. Invest and cash out. Work is for the plebs, the populous, the masses. But in the west school and education guilt trip the plebs into not investing because getting rich means eternal damnation. They don't teach you how to be rich in school. If they did nobody would be maintaining the workings of the country so the political elite have a motive to keep the people ignorant and under control.
