>find indie game with decently sized following>join their public pisscord server after swearing the platform off for about a year>have to give up my data to a ban evasion bot that suffered a major data breach barely a week ago (that's still in the server for some reason) in order to join>it's full of underage trannies with anime profile pictures and ESLs shitting up the chat specifically meant for discussion about the game with yuritroonery and autistic fandom memesgod, man. i know this place has been shit for like 5 years now but it's hard not to come back here when every other communication platform is this bleak.
uhhhh trash thread ev&o it makes the froags seethe o algo

I have learned that anyplace which forces username eventually falls to cliques, tribalism, and attention whoring. I never had or got into any social media. Anonymous platforms are the only places worth talking to anyone. Even if you wind up getting the worst of humanity at least you get something “real”. This is why namefags are best ignored.
>>25170242I honestly can't say for sure if usernames really are the problem like you say, but I'm inclined to agree with you.People like to say that "4chan is dead" and "Twitter is the new 4chan" when it's so much worse for actual discussion if you don't want to constantly post engagement bait or bend over backwards to appease trannies and libtards who will constantly follow police you, otherwise you might as well be screaming into the void.>b-but we can say the nigger word!!!!The rightoids (all 9001 factions of them) on there aren't any better either because they're still repeating the same jokes over and over and stopped being funny years ago.Pisscord, for all its faults, is at least slightly better because you can use it to talk to close friends on there. Though trying to find likeminded people in public servers is a lost cause. You're either going to be ignored by everyone or groomed by some tranny. But I guess this is only a problem for people who don't want to conform to that kind of thing.
