samesamesameI take good care of all of my stuff. But doing a third repair on something made-to-die that isn't even well-suited to my usecase, just makes me feel like I'm wasting my time and energy.I don't trust "top <#> <thing>" lists or "best <#> <thing> of <this year>" lists because those slots are bought by business affiliates and sold as advertisements these days.I don't trust 5 star reviews or 1 star reviews either. they are too biased and there's no way to tell if it's because of the actual product or something else entirely. How I search terms that seem to work okay for me for now are: "<thing> feature list" for background research (especially if it's not something I'm used to using, or the market for the thing has developed a lot since I last bought/used one), "<thing> <feature> comparison" if I decide that I need a certain feature, "<thing/product> tested" to hopefully find real people who tested the company claims on products either in general or specific products in my budget that have caught my eye by this point. When many different kinds of information sources all agree on something, that's about the best I can hope for in terms of "knowing before buying" but still not as reliable as I keep letting myself hope it is.
If AI were good it would be doing all this slogwork for me BUT NOoOo it is, in fact, writing all the nonsense I'm having to filter through as we speak!
