Almost all British narrowboat canals are only 3 ft deep so how are so many white Brits drowning in them when you can simply stand up? You do not need to know how to swim to know how to stand up so your airway is clear and if you're over 3 ft tall, you don't even need to swim in water that shallow. Nobody's saying you can't drown in an inch of water if you're unconscious, but isn't a fully conscious person not standing up in knee to waist deep water a bit sus?
