That's like my multi tools. Just buy them all and when you need a knife you get to chose.

Get the helle! I love them. The birch bark handles are beautiful, light and very resilient and their steel is far superior to most, I have their jegermester to clean my deer with and you could quite literally shave your face with the thing out of the box. They are pricey but well worth it. I probably have well over 100 knives and my Helle is absolutely one of my favorite non-custom knives I’ve ever owned. That one is even full tang unlike mine so you can baton with it if you had to (beating on the back of the knife with a piece of firewood or such to split logs—not recommended unless you can see the spine of the metal running all the way through the handle as is the case with that Helle in the photo), I didn’t know they made a full tang design, that thing is badass!

I liked this knife so much when I was young that I contacted the designer later in life and bought the ones he'd set aside. It's mass produced and the blade is of mediocre quality but otherwise it's the best folding knife I've ever touched.

Would skip the American one, purely because I don't like the belt clip. Just never sits right in the hand.
>>
>>25297782
The USA knife is Chinese. The flatgrind knife in the middle has better steel than both and is a better allrounder.
>>
Opinel is my favourite even though it is French.
>>
>>25297790
This one is good

Check out the northern lights series from fallkniven, they are almost made as an homage to Randall custom knives. I think they are using the same Japanese blade maker that cold steel hires out for their premium San Mai knives, the steel is identical and it’s laminated and shaped the same way. Got to be the same factory. I don’t have a Fallkniven yet but it’s on my Christmas list. Better than waiting 7 years for a Randall lol

Some are made in China. I have a Walther Pro, hand feels good, but unfortunately there's also a large chance it was made in China too.

The hardest part of carrying a folding knife is telling your parents that youre gay.
>>
>>25297782
Depends on what you're using it for and what kind of steel it has. If it's just for EDC and light cutting tasks, obviously the folder would be best. If you're using it for bushcraft, then the bottom knife with the scandi grind is best. Middle knife looks like it has a flat grind and the steel has good corrosion resistance, so it's the best at processing food.

Just a straight blade now. Never found a folding knife that lasted. The last one I had was a cheap flip open I got from bud K I think. That little bastard lasted about 3 years on a job site, finally the bolt just fell out. Been fixed blade ever since. Just a straight tanto blade nothing gay

It's because you're British and you're not allowed to have cool knives. Opinels are dogshit. There are nice, budget Chinese knives that blow Opinel out of the water. For $20 more dollars you can get something from Miguron, Vosteed, QSP, CJRB, or the dozen other Chinese knife manufacturers. They typically import the knife steel from the US or Europe, so the quality is actually decent. Also the scales are made out of G-10 or micarta, so you don't have to worry about the handle swelling or splitting.
>>
>>25297802
Lol fuck no. Even my Milwaukee knife in D2 is chink.
>>
>>25297782
There's no such thing as too many knives or tools.
For EDC I have a bunch of US made Kershaw folders
That Brisa looks like a great hunting/camp knife. Finns make good stuff.
But I'm cheap and practical with fixed blades so every vehicle, tackle box, and camping/hunting bag has a Morakniv.
Also Leatherman Super Tool 300 for me.
>>
>>25297802
Some are. I have an automatic Buck knife that is made in the USA.
>>
>>25297798
I love Opinels. Nobody can talk shit about them because they're not only cheap but they're functional and last forever. Chinkshits can cope all they want about their Shengfangdong blades.
>>
>>25297782
Finland. The highest IQ one with the lowest standard of living. Smart enough to make quality poor enough to need to depend on it.
>>

They suck. I can open my normal pocket knives, cut something, and then close them before you can even open the Opinel. All knives last forever if you take care of them. Opinels are more fragile than modern designs. The collar on an Opinel is one of the weakest locks out there and they're slow to use. The wooden handle can absorb water and change its shape or even split over time. There are materials like richlite that feel similar to wood, but they're immune to chemicals and the elements. And you can get them in any color of have the layers stacked and carve designs.

The bottom one because it has a pommel and it's full tang and it's pommel is steel and it has two holes for lanyard so it can wrap around your hand if you want to do a lanyard through both holes.

switchblade. Push button/switch, knife opens.
>>
>>25297782
For bottom one, you can see that there is blade steel trough entire handle, and there is even piece of steel poking out at back of the handle. Which makes it more versatile for camping, as you can smash it to something (like nuts) without worrying to damage the handle. Theese characteristics make it most robust from this set.

The design is a typical Scandinavian bushcraft knife. The design is so common that even the blade grind is named the "scandi" grind. There are folding knife versions too.
