>“Poor people are poor because they choose to be.”Is this true?
>>62260586Poor people are poor because they have no impulse control
>>62260586Poverty begins in the mind.
This only works in an economy like the boomers lived in where you can just walk into an office with a good handshake, 3 references and your degree and they'll give you a nice chair and a cubicle to work at for a middle class salary. To put it another way- people were poor because they didn't try and just wnated to be drunk/high from 1968-present when boomers were young. Boomers made a lot of money in the 80s when inflation calmed down and every guy with a job was suddenly rolling in dough. This is literally impossible for our generation, on top of the fact the "good office jobs paying 50/hr" simply aren't going to be offered to (You), even if the internet is full of larpers claiming wfh 100/hr jobs.

>>62260586Yes.>>62260592/threadThe only exceptions are cancer victims that didn't do anything to actually get cancer and people born with actual physical deformations and physical diseases that destroy their body (note, i didn't include "mental illness" in the exceptions).
>>62260586Very true.
>>62260586Yes but it's moreso learned helplessness
>>62260586false, it's because they're stupid or lazy
I'm poor because I dropped out in 6th grade, worked for my dad till 19 then he died of cancer and left me nothing, couldn't finish paying off his house note and lost my childhood home. Then I met a woman who got me addicted to adderall at 21 then mentally fucked with me and cheated on me with my close friend, while I sat taking care of her 12 year old son. After that I lost all hope or trust in humans and isolated for seven years, then started getting sicker rapidly developing infections and cysts that had to be surgically removed, and then after that I was about 30 at this point I got much worse off and fell into a permanent state of illness, to only recently find out I had a genetic abnormality making my heart backflow blood from my left kidney and I've had a 180 blood pressure for years and years because of it which caused a rapid aging and decline due to organ overfunction. And then I had a less than 100 ever done surgical procedure to fix it last month and it didn't go as planned, so I'm poor because of that, and I had to take care of my widowed mother as well during all this. Now I'm probably going to die within a couple years at best, or if this surgery completely fails maybe within minutes since there's now an 8mm graft going from my largest artery in my heart to my left kidney, so if it rejects both my heart and kidney will fail. Not to mention I had a blood plasma disorder that's possibly myeloma growing in a tumor within my neck, and they biopsied it with abnormal results that was 2 years ago it's gotten much worse, they can't remove it to specify if its cancer or something different, because it's next to my jugular vein so no surgeon in my city will touch it.That's my QRD, yes I've posted about it before.I know there's like nobody here and this is probably a spampost. But well there's like nobody to trauma dump onto since I find most social media to be more cancerous than the shit in my blood/neck.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mn-FFjIbo8
>>62260586short answer: nolong answer: yes, they choose to be poor by not killing the rich
>>62260594it begins in the balls
I guess I was hasty simply saying yes. There certainly are also cases of people born so exceptionally retarded or mentally ill that they never had a chance.
>>62260586yeah why did you choose to be born into a poor family
>>62260743Good luck anon, godspeed
>>62260586not consciously but they do stupid stuff like refusing to employ other people for low wages and being unwilling to charge full market value for their skills. They don't use debt effectively and they don't set aside money to make more money with.in that regard it's a choice. If you think rich people are evil you're probably not going to get rich.
>>62260743ehh could be worse, you could have all that but also never had a gf
>>62260908She's a cow now I was luckier getting out of it.
>>62260586>choose better parents>choose better friends>choose a better brain>choose a better country
>>62260793>be me>32 years old>factory wagie with no skills>grow up in rural Ohio>family has zero savings or investments>lived in a doublewide trailer>moved out at 21>work the same wagie job for 14 years>be in the top 7% of net worth for my age>networth of around $550k>don't own a house, so it's not equity in real estate>see people that grew up in the middle-class suburbs>nice 2,300 sqft house bro>they have their Bachelor's or Master's>remember I never got invited to the rich middle-class kid's homes>remember getting made-fun of because I wore the same baggy t-shirts for years>watch them bitch and cry on tiktok about gas prices, groceries, real estate and student debt>blame everything on Boomers because they have no dignity, no work ethic and no plan>"y-you just got lucky!!!!">skill issue for you>no meme stocks>no crypto>just normie investments>I now view the welfare poor as parasites and middle-class as chimpanzees>yes, I'm actually better than you>you failed because you're weak, you're stupid, you have no impulse control>now I look down on you with disgustGo fuck yourselves.
>>62260586No I don't think so. My parents were upper middle class, but my dad got cancer and now they're living paycheck to paycheck while they pay his medical bills. The US healthcare system will fuck you in the ass harder than most bad decisions you can make.
>>62260947>paying medical billsa bankruptcy lawyer is way cheaper
>>62260941>phoneposting>larp>spacing to consume as much of the thread as possible for bait purposesIt's a nice larp, but not convincing at all try harder next time, and it shows when you're using a phone versus a PC.
>>62260878rich people chose to be born into rich families, why couldnt poors do the same?
>>62260947how are they upper middle class and don't have health insurance?
>>62260947But imagine how much harder it would be if you were lower class with the same problems. The level of wealth that you are born into mostly just determines how easy it is to make it
>>62260984cancer will cap out your insurance in a month
>>62260966>"he posts on his phone instead of sitting on a pc!!??? Reeeeeee!!!"
It's always pathetic to me how self-determined success stories are absolutely HATED almost universally. You're all crabs in a bucket.
>>62261077You know ranjesh if you want people to engage with your larps you gotta stop with immediately going on the offensive when nobody is talking to you.It creates an aura, like the smell of shit it wafts off you.>>I now view the welfare poor as parasites and middle-class as chimpanzees>yes, I'm actually better than you>you failed because you're weak, you're stupid, you have no impulse control>now I look down on you with disgustGo fuck yourselves. That part, if you didn't put that into your story maybe people would engage, if you weren't trying to slide a portion of the thread with a huge phoneblock bait post maybe people would engage. It looks odd in comparison to normal posting. There's only 1 reason to phonepost here, ban evasion.
Your mum choose to marry the poor bloke. Born rich in next life.
>>62260586Sometimes is bad luck, but is mostly a combination of ignorance, stupidity and laziness
>>62260793>the richmoney is made up
>>62260743Jesus fucking christ baldieI'm sorry.I should have been nicer. My life is shit but still slightly better than you. However i am at the point where death does not trigger any fear reaction anymore but a secret longing.Point made. Some people are poor because they had difficult lives, and that's very true. Also a fucking LOT of people have mental issues>>62260696and even if you think that's not a real disease i can tell you being in my late 30s that many, many people have some level of mental issues and they never fix those and it completely ruin their lives in very different ways. There are the complete schizos, but you have people with anger issues, mood swing, anxiety disorders, or weird way that they think in life, and it can lead to some serious problems or failures. In fact i would go as far to say as people who are successful in life generally have been dealt a good hand from this aspect (mental and physical health) while others who struggle haven't.And yes there are exceptions like Mcaffee who offed his abusive dad at 16 but then look how he turned out in the end he was still completely fucked up and insane and mudered someone.that's why the real redpill is not trying to cope with money but achieving mastery of your own issues
Counter-argument:It’s hard to make it when you have $0, no connections, no one to trust you, and various daily problems that come from being poor (deficiencies due to bad food, noisy and dangerous environment, having to do everything all alone, etc.). And it was even 10 times harder before the Internet was a thing.
No, even living frugally the average wage here gets you enough just to survive.>Just get a better job broIsn't a choice for many. Many people aren't capable of reaching beyond their level and the "super duper business entrepreneur" is a tiny amount of people in the real world.Outliers who were tramps then became billionaires are outliers and exceptions, they aren't (You). On the other side of the coin, even been given a modest amount of wealth when you are young can transform your entire future if you invest and don't spunk it up the wall. Even given just 200k at 18 becomes a million around 40 even if you were a complete retard who worked min wage and never added to it, just left it.
>>62260613It is kinda funny when I mention my salary (which only 16-17% of Americans make more than) I get flooded with (you)s claiming they make triple with their trade job.
>>62260586i imagine getting out of poverty is difficult. the impoverished have limited capital: they have money, they likely have bad habits, they might struggle with delayed gratification, they don't fit in with middle or upper middle class society, and so on. in most cases it's compounded by 1) possibly everyone around them being a retarded leech who resents any and all success, maybe to the extent of engaging in sabotage and 2) the floor on the cost of living being so high that any emergency or misstep is punished severely. if you're truly poor, probably your only hope (in the USA) is joining the military, where everything is provided for, as long as you show up and do the bare minimum for 3-5 years. no, i'm not a ZOGbot or a former ZOGbot -- but i grew up in a rural shithole and i saw some of my classmates go this route.
>>62260726Rings true for the people I know. They are so focused on making due with wat little they have the idea of trying to earn more money doesn't occur to them, and their first response to any problem is to go to social services.
>>62261090Nobody cares about your sob story lil' bro.
>>62260586You need money to make money, getting the initial batch is what keeps people poor if they fail to build it up or worse, they build it up but do nothing with it (leaving in bank account for tiny increases)
For a lot of people in the US? Maybe. But truly I feel sorry for people born in poor countries where they don’t have options at all. Eating mud cookies in Haiti and shit, it’s very sad.
>>62260743I wish you the best, anon.
>>62261919this is the white man's fault, he brought them enough technology so their death rate has been divided by 8 and now we can clearly see how they should have been lef to themselves until they were biologically ready for civilisation
>>62260586yes. almost everyone (like 99%) of people I know earns more money than I do but only have 5% of my total net worth. not even talking about retard but actual non-stupid people with master degrees.at this point I believe they deliberately play life on super hard-mode despite having a s-tier build.
