Any good reads on the (patho)psychology of long term bag holders? GME, BBY, LINK, Bayhorse, any other of the many, many shitcoins. I find these groups very fun and interesting to observe, and I'm wondering if there have been any good scholarly works on these populations. What makes them tick? What blinds them so? Why must the hold? How can I ensure I avoid such a fate? How can I help friends of similar delusions?

It’s the sunk cost fallacy played out. Some people would rather become “part of the community” instead of taking the L and moving on.

That's a good point re community. I'd imagine many don't have other communities to be a part of and/or check them, so there is value to being part of this group, even if it costs you financially.

So you mean like normal investing. Buying a stock and being long on it. Do you also sneed about people who stacked silver for years like a retard? sage

Hope bias, sunken cost fallacy, they learned to disregard any information not from their bubble as fud, self supported more and more unrealistic narratives in their bubble.
