>turning 31>just got a CDL I'm a loser and don't have many other options, but part of me is having cold feet because I know that once I do this, the door to doing anything else basically closes because if I change my mind in five years I'll be nearly 40 and trying to start over again. I just want a remote job doing anything even if it's lower pay but not completely dead end; tried dabbling in coding and accounting but the threat of AI taking away the low value human capital positions made me lose a lot of motivation
>>62286379>accountantYou need a very specific type of intelligence and worth ethic to be an accountant. lol. You, a failure at 40 and trucking as an option, accounting definitely isnt for you.
>>62286379I grew up in a very good area with one of the best school districts in the country in the first world. I can 100% say I have a very good perspective on many things. You need to be a certain type of person to be in accounting. Hard to explain but if you know you know. I grew up in a good area and from grade 1 to 12, I already knew the types that got straight A’s in class and exams and etc.
>>62286405You don't need good grades rip be an accountant
>>62286399I'm not 40, is not having reading comprehension part of being an accountant?
>>62286410I didn't even say I wanted to be an accountant, I said I dabbled in accounting If that dude is the bar of intelligence for being in accounting then I can probably join the field. I was more interested in getting into bookkeeping, but I said accounting because there's no bookkeeping degree and I would want to get a degree of some sort
Im an accountant, the worst part is getting the first entry level role (because outsourcing is so rampant). Once you get in even as a bookkeeper or A/P it’s not hard to get a good job when you graduate. Enroll in WGU and take as many classes as possible, there are ways to go from zero to a bachelor’s in 2 years. Find an entry level role like I mentioned and apply with a resume showing you’re an accounting student. Then in two years you can get on much easier than a random new grad. I did all of this except a state school instead of WGU. I have a hybrid schedule and do probably 15 hours of real work a week
>>62286399Lol take it easy midwit accounting is the next job to get axed by AIAlso OP id recommend some type of trade. Pressure wash driveways for $600 a job
>>62286399>>62286405>accountant detected If women can do a job, it is not difficult A simple calculator does most of your job for you
>>62286410You need a certain personality and characteristics. >>62286436Sure. Whatever man. I knew my post would cause controversy cause no one wants to admit they are stupid or not fit the job. Will you agree there is a difference between a blue collar and white collar career person? It is just one of those things. No blue collar person would agree they are dumb or whatever. I went to a high school with 2000 plus students. Middle and elementary in a good area. Legit, from grade 1-12, all high grade students have a certain personality and characteristic about them. Not all are “nerds” and “pathetic losers” or whatever insults you’re gonna reply with. And no, I am not one of those students lol. The only way I can describe those students are “intelligent” without sounding redundant. Or “stable.” Hard to describe. I am just giving my perspective cause I know most people and anons here don’t have as such a good perspective as me. Feel free to ama.
>>62286458I am not smart but don’t be silly, accounting requires a certain personality. That “personality” could be as simple as sitting still for 10 hours a day studying. Obviously it requires multiple traits but that is one.
>>62286458You just don’t have a good grasp of anything. I was born very privileged so I know things. Good area and such. If op has the option to choose between trucking and accounting at 31, he is definitely not the accounting type. Its like being doctor, you don’t have to very intelligent but you really do need some certain traits. Not saying doctors are smart or that the profession isn’t tainted now, but you do need a certain personality to go in to it. And yeah, that profession does tend to attract studious kids, students and people.
>>62286458It’s like saying an athletic good looking popular person is less likely to study accounting or be a doctor. An athletic and person who loves movement is going to have a hard time sitting still and studying and reading 7hours a day for years. Your personality kinda pushes you into a specific career. You also need to be smart enough to ignore some instincts. Like in my early 20s, I was into bodybuilding so I chose a part time physical job, turns out most people don’t have opportunities like me and people don’t really get to join and quit as many jobs as me. So most physical jobs are worked by low iq barely human people. People that operate on emotions and instincts like animals.
>>62286379>got cdlDidn’t this already require a ton of time and $ already?
>>62286379great men have successfully changed careers in their 50s, don't be a bitch. Get the bag and invest it into tech, bitcoin, and gold, retire by 48, do whatever u want.
>>62286519These are great men and they are a handful. For the majority, personality and characteristics dictate what people choose as a career path.
>>62286519Wtf is invest, bro?99% of people don’t even have 1m invested. “Investing” is literally for the rich.
>>62286379I’m not sure what to tell you OP but I’m sorry your thread got hijacked by that fag.
>>62286461You have made a bunch of grammar errors so I'm just going to assume you're ESL
>>62286579Pretty sure he's the guy who's always posting about "high status" or whatever, he spams every thread he enters
>>62286443>first entry level roleI guess I should just apply to these but I live in a small town and there's only a handful. They all want an associates and/or years of experience just to make $20/hr. If I even got the interview I'd probably fail it because I have no relevant skills but maybe I should do it now, I have nothing to lose
>>62286583you're likely conversing with a jeet
>>62286379Buy chainlink you dumbfuck
>>62286405You will never have sex as an accountant. And if you do it will be way too awkward for any chick to enjoy unless she has cerebral palsy.
>>62286379i started over when i was 40
Don't listen to the kvetching anon larping as an accountant, you could do trucking while studying in your free time to be an accountant.
>>62286620>Muh dick>>62286615>Muh jeet
You earned a CDL.You can work towards something else.Just don't stop and never be a lazy piece of shit. You;ll be good. You realize you typed this shit on $skins right. Good luck yo!
ITTAnons who don’t want to admit characteristics and traits dictate what profession you go into. Just like how blue collar wagies don’t want to admit they are barely 70 iq monkeys. Go walk into a construction site in your shithole town, every worker there looks like a golem.
>>62286668ITT anon tries to twist accounting from the paperwork equivalent of Sisyphus where gay ass guidelines are mounted more and more and one little fuckup blows up the whole mountain to "no but seriously these redditors are the best and the brightest, you have to get all of the best medals at star academy".I switched to statistics for a reason, accounting is the janitor of banking.>>62286379Don't go into accounting, you'll shoot up the place within a month (the school or whatever poor takes you as an intern), also they're replacing the entry level shit with pajeets, especially the big 4.
>>62286644Yea muh dick. Lot lizards will blow him while you’ve never had a girl touch your dick
>>62286691Kinda hoping he is better than that. But if that's his this thing, why not?Don;t do that Anon.
>>62286379i do feel sorry for you because trucking can be demanding and driving is dangerous, but at the same time i've heard of truckers living great lives so i don't feel bad for you. you should have gotten a bachelors in something if you didnt want a working job.
>>62286748So this example is from the boomer period but I remember one of my dad's friends going into trucking instead of using his engineering degree because he simply could not take the stress of living in a major metro. Like his life wasn't all sunshine and rainbows but he made do. Get a truck fridge full of reta and chicken breast, you won't get too fat.
Truckers deliver all the stuff we want to buy.Hang in there. Drive safe yo!Stay alert and take it seriously.
>>62286477This is the most autistic board.
Lol this thread is a good reflection of society. No one wants to admit they are low status even though their job is exactly that. low status.
>>62286690>accounting is the janitor of bankingkek
I agree with the personality guy. Most jobs require other personality traits than just being smart to do well. Really want to find something that is a good fit for your brain and environment if possible or you are going to have a bad time.
>>62286785OP started his post by saying he is a loser. That set up this thread to be that way. In the future stop posting like a loser and fag. No offense OP. People need to stop being afraid to post proud. If you want to be a trucker, just say I'm a trucker! Then maybe talk shit about people who aren't truckers. Let's have fun and not be pussys.Start acting like men! Tell some bullshit story about fucking people's mom"s who are lot lizards. Just kiding, be respectful. Stand up and take pride in your work.
>>62286618I can stop being an accountant whenever this dogshit actually pumps>>62286605Yea getting that first experience is the hardest part but it sets you up well to get a good job afterwards
>>62286379Trucking is tough job, try your best to at least get good nutrition. I suggest meal prep and have a freezer and mini fridge in your cab that way you are not always eating out, also make sure you do burpees and some push-ups and pull-ups. You need to get some exercise and movement in to pump spinal fluid throughout your back or you will get back problems. You don’t have to do a lot, just like 20-30 minutes of some good exercise a day. It’ll be awkward as you will have to do in parking lot but you must do what you gotta do. Do these things and you will survive trucking without turning into a fat piece of shit
>>62286828That dude would have called me a loser anyway, he just lurks around here looking for threads to spam in
>>62286845Yeah that's my biggest concern. I don't think thirty minutes a day would compensate for 10 hours of pure sitting. At least I'm an office job you're not completely chained to the desk
>>62286379>the door to doing anything else basically closes because if I change my mind in five years I'll be nearly 40 and trying to start over againSo what? You're going to be dead in about 50 years anyways. If you hate driving and want to change careers at 40, just do it. Life is too short to stick with a job you hate because you feel like you sunk too much time and money into it to switch tracks.
>>62286826People don’t want to admit they lack certain traits for certain jobs. >>62286849You’re fucking stupid. Pearls before swine. I gave you tons of good feedback but your blue collar ass couldn’t handle it. You missed the forest for the trees. A studious guy would NOT fit into blue collar work. A blue collar guy wouldn’t fit into an office environment downtown commercial building. Cultural differences. To be put it this way so low iq mid wits don’t get offended.
>>62286865I didn't ignore any of your advice retard. It doesn't apply to me, I'm aware that Big 5 personality traits are more important than IQ and I never claimed that I wanted to become an accountant. But despite posting 20 times you ignored me when I called out your incredibly poor reading comprehension
>>62286874>muh big 5 personality traitsLmao. Omg. You’re such a low iq retard. Lmao.
>>62286865>studious guy would NOT fit into blue collar workThen why was my CDL school full of dudes trying to leave those positions to become truckers? And an entry level accounting position at a small firm or doing something like account receivable is not rocket science, I took classes on it and it's pretty straightforward but it is tedious I think you have a mental condition, jeet
>>62286874An accountant is very different from a truck driver. If you don’t want to admit this, you are either being defensive or the typical blue collar type who pretends he is just the same if not better than everyone else.
>>62286892>entry levelLmao. Just like how colleges hand out student loans and even those that should not be in college go to college. You’re so fucking stupid. Those people that switched were blue collar by blood and had no business in white collar. Fuck. You’re either a mid wit dealing in the real world or you’re pretending “everyone is equal and can be anything they want.”
>>62286889You come off as low IQ just through text. Idgaf about your laro or your advice. Go stink up another thread
>>62286902>blue collar by blood100% Jeet coded
>>62286904>You come off as low IQ just through text. Idgaf about your laro or your advice. Go stink up another threadSays the retard thinking of working in trucking. lmao. The jokes write themselves. >>62286892> took classes on it and it's pretty straightforward but it is tediousWait till you start studying for certifications and not some basic program. Seperates the cum from the stain. You’re just the stain.
>>62286892> And an entry level accounting position at a small firm or doing something like account receivable is not rocket science, I took classes on it and it's pretty straightforward but it is tediousGetting to the next level like true accountants is where the fun starts. You’re just a retard who should have went straight into blue collar work instead of larping as white collar. You don’t even know your own weaknesses and you think you’re intelligent or the studious type. It takes a certain type plus determination to study for those exams to get the official certifications. Any retard can finish a basic 4 year college program. Studious or “smart” or nerdy people graduate with high gpa. Blue collar people even if not dumb, don’t have what it takes to study for hours and hours at a table and desk.
Let’s argue amongst ourselves. Are we working? Just do what you are capable and are happy doing. No need to shit talk. Let’s use this board to do business. If someone says they would like to pursue a career in a certain field, the people in that field should reach out and help them. That would be productive. Be useful and support those who need help.Let’s be a board that is successful!
>>62286934>me reading the log of pride incarnateMop up the books, janny.>>62286909Look, I was in a similar position where I graduated and wanted to try a bunch of things. I don't need to tell you what to do because you know deep inside. Do you want to truck and deal with the long term isolation and lesser health outcomes after decades of hard work or would you rather suck it up socially, study and put in the work to be somewhat competent and start building your credentials from there? You know the answer. I can't dictate your station in life, and especially Mr. Gay Pee In G-Spot (KPMG, I tried okay?). But if you do get an accounting degree, if you want the good bucks, you're gonna have to get the certifications. Accounting is a high stress environment; people are miserable, despite their internal narratives might say otherwise. Do an IQ test, if you lean spatial, and your verbal is below 110 (a lot of accounting is reading guidelines), consider something else. I believe in you, OP. :D
