I have a PhD in math and I'm going to be homeless soon
Reminder: if you were actually smart you wouldnt be poor.

>>62286760literally me only i never finished i dropped out at the end and became a NEET
>>62286760I was just talking to my kid about the prevalence of insanity among hard sciences and engineering.fascinating stuff. Build a cabin in the woods and contemplate the technological future of mankind
be a helpdeskthen be an adminthen be an engineerthen be an architectbye
>>62286760Work for a quant firm
>>62286760i come from the highest educated society and generation in the world, yet my country has the highest youth unemployment in the g7
>>62286760how about u give math classes to black kids? don't forget ur bulletproof vest.I think u could get employment in 24h but you're probably retarded in your own way
>>62286760good.
>>62287563>be a helpdesk>then be an admin>then be an engineerNot him, but I have been applying for all of those as well as a CS post grad with relevant experience to no avail.I'm not giving up, but shit's genuinely fucked. Maybe I should make an app instead of going for the regular employment route.
>>62287735@grok. make me this specific app while I go for walk. there is no money in "making apps". you have a higher chance of success stacking shelves. dont want to demoralize you here but its not helpful being on pure copium atm.
>>62287746this>>62287735unironically give up on coding shit with the exception of games because that is kind of a vestige because it is considered an art form but other than that don't touch coding with a 10 feet pole.games or actual labour. choose
>>62287746>>62287761I'll be honest with you: If mankind yields programming to the machines, mankind has handed over the keys to itself to the machines. There is no human activity that requires more ability, skill and responsibility than coding. Now, I'm sure, politicians and business majors will act responsib-AH, who am I kidding? We are fucked.
>>62287563>be a helpdesk This is like being at McDonald's
>>62286760I'm a high school dropout and a self-made millionaire
>>62286767isaac newton lost a ton of money on stocks. being smart doesn't have much to do with being rich.
>>62287746i feel like a fucking chad reading that kind of posts (won't say more nigga)
>>62287969no it does, especially if you are either desperate or have time to learn, newton was an academic who was well paid by the crown, he was also the president of the royal society and also worked at the royal mint
>>62288052>have time to learn19 year old mulattoe undergrad studying STEM spotted. you don't get rich by being smart. you get rich by trading on insider information or by starting a business with the necessary timing and connections to all but ensure success.
>>62287949no its not
>>62286760>samsung s9 s9 and s10 were unfathomably based phones.
>>62288175It's basically retail.Administration is basically secretary work, you clean the coffee machine and do people's salaries.
>>62288230IT administrationfucking golem
>>62288230>partition disks>configure nic and routes>compile proprietary software>clear noob git fuckups>cron everything>fully remote>109kyeah basically secretary work, moron.OP if you cannot get into a tech. go to a bank and be a relationship banker. say you can sell and aren't afraid to make calls everyday. you literally will be a bank teller for 6 months but if you can bring ppl in to open checking accounts theyll move you to loan officer and or into a main building and if you have a background in math you will move up. or make every reason why not to.
>>62288139all of which can be learned faster than the average normie if you are smart, this doesn't invalidate my point
90% of people are in their position in life because that's what they were born into. Only an extreme minority of outliers move up. Nobody moves down unless they squander their huge advantages. You failed by not having rich parents.
>>62288303>clicking buttons, proofreading, and schedulingidk sounds pretty secretarial
>>62286760>PhD in mathlmao retard
>>62287969Newton didn’t even exist lol
>>62287969newton was smart enough to not be literally homeless
>>62287783>There is no human activity that requires more ability, skill and responsibility than coding.Lmao. Nigga it's just for loops and if else's. Pretending that coding actually takes skill was just a prank we pulled on management to get paid 6 figures writing digital dogshit.
>>62290409no, you illiterate hick. a secretary would perform tasks such as bookkeeping, answering phone calls, and handling visitors. it can be hard for people that haven't work anywhere except Home Depot to fully understand what different positions entail in business settings.
>>62287949You do helpdesk to learn how to speak to clients. You be an admin to understand how to manage, you be an engineer as you apply wisdom to the tools you were only using and develop your own; you become an architect and design the systems your tools will be used on. Its really that simple. Then you become a god and design the very concepts that architects will build upon, ascending to HDI
>>62287969Newton learned about what goes up must come down
>>62286760Check the local bakery, they might be hiring.
>>62286760There is a story that when the Unabomber was identified as Ted Kaczynski, the chair of the Berkeley math department said he thought it had been a faculty member, he just hadn't been sure which one.
>>62290577>coding actually takes skillIt does. Which is not to say that every coder has skill. There is a reason, the market is filled with trashy software.Usually free software is better simply by virtue of the programmers knowing that the whole world is going to see their code.Meanwhile the "geniuses" with most corps know they can get away with writing absolute dog-trash as long as it appears to run (to the untrained eye).
>>62286760>MathLMAO you know calculators have been invented right?
Tbh I've just kinda come to terms with the fact that knowledge work is over. Studied CS, loved programming, but after being at a job for the last 2 years, I've pretty much lost all will to continue in this field with the same rigor that I once had, not because AI can do my job well (it can do a decent job) but mostly because management will go as far as accusing engineers of "using more tokens than they need to in order to make AI seem more expensive than a developer so they can save their jobs". I already had a hatred for the marketing that these people fell for but after hearing that comment, I'm just completely dejected. Hoping that I can have $300k~ net worth by the time I'm 30, invest it and then just work a job at a music store or bartend at an alternative bar or do something that's more "people-focused". I've been overcoming my autism by going out to bars and talking to people and I honestly find more reward in that than programming at this point. Making music is also really fun and I like the attention I get from women doing it. I'd rather just do that all day
