I'm so sick and tired of idiots claiming that videogames are expensive. Videogames today are cheaper than ever, but gamers as a group are incredibly whiny little pricks.

In the middle of the 90s, you could pay $70 for an N64 game. Adjusted for inflation, that is around $150 today.

$150!

Also, games back then had way lower development costs compared to the games being made today.

If a big game fails today, it could spell the end of the studio with mass layoffs. That's how tight the marigins are. And yet gamers keep complaining about expensive prices.

If a game failed in the 90s, the studio most likely survived, because the game wasn't that expensive to develop.

How do we get gen z and gen alpha to understand how cheap games today actually are?

I stopped buying and even pirating games mid 2000s. After probably the best decade for video games (1995-2005) I unironically believe I pretty much have seen the peak. You cant convince me the current gaming market is better than it was back then outside of a very few games. What I want to say is that even for free they are not worth your time. You are better off going for walk, working out or straight up watching youtube shorts.
