Most conversation with friends/family/coworkers I have when it comes to investing long term in Roth IRA, high yield savings, and my ETF Dividend portfolio even with all the money I make working cyber security utilizing FIRE method they get so aggressive about “what if” scenarios thinking I’m day-trading and even when I explain it they don’t get it.

“WHAT IF THE MARKET ALL GOES UNDER AND YOU LOSE EVERYTHING”

“WHAT IF YOU TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY OUT AND SELL ON A LOSS”

“WHAT IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS AND YOU HAVE NO MONEY”

Which I retort what happens when you lose your job? When the market goes under and suddenly you’re up for layoffs?

“WELL THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE IM VALUABLE AND MY SKILLS AND MY TIME AR COMPANY AND-“

Like do these people really think working for someone for the rest of your life is the only way to live? I’d rather live frugally but free, and that really seems to irk people.

What the hell is this psychology? Why do they hate the idea someone doesn’t wanna work for someone for the rest of their life or majority? Do we forget money is to buy our freedom?
>>
They are physically, mentally incapable of visualizing what you are trying to explain in terms of long term time horizons, compounding returns, etc. It's not worth bothering with. Like trying to talk to a dog.
>>
There's a reason poor "people" are poor
The final redpill and the toughest to swallow is that jews are 100% right about the goyim
>>
>>62294870
You probably come across as obnoxious and irritating and you're clearly in your early 20s and lack the maturity to keep shit to yourself. People don't just randomly get aggressive the way you've described, you're missing the key details and you're probably rubbing people up the wrong way and saying all the wrong this because you lack tact and grace.
>>
>>62294881
poor people get randomly aggressive for no reason all the time retard, subhuman poors are known to lack impulse control
and what does age has to do with it?
people can be wageslaves until the day they die, doesn't make it a good thing

Buddy I still got friends who talk nonchalantly about this type of thing and the shit we talk about gets pretty obscene. I don’t talk to anyone I need finesse with unless it’s strictly professional or business.

A lot of assumptions there pal.
>>
>>62294888
People get aggressive when they're provoked by clueless mongoloid 21 year old retards like you that can't read the room and start talking about how much money you make. Its a perfectly reasonable response to mock you and ridicule you and shame you for acting like a retard and talk about money all the time.
>>
>>62294889
Its pretty clear you to everybody here you got talking to non-4chan, regular people and started sperging about your wealth and money and you pissed people off. Cope about it as much as you want and call them all the names you want, you made an ass of yourself and you lack social awareness and someone challenged you now you're crying about it on /biz/ grow up man

I fucking LOVE casting my pearls before swine.

I just want my friends who complain about their bosses, working, and wage slaving to realize there’s a way out and they legit don’t want to hear it or absorb there’s another way. Some do and are going down the path great.

But others, I don’t even get condescending or offensive. I just talk about the topic with interest or passion and they need to get defensive like something programmed in them when all I’ve done was present there’s another way and I’m doing it.
>>
>>62294894
poor people get aggresive for merely bumping into them in a public space
>>
poors love being slaves and wagies, they love the status quo, that is why they hate hearing how there's a way out
also they're cattle so they can only think in the small term like the instant gratification chasing cattle they are
>>
>>62294881
>dumbass wagies get upset someone else has more saved than them

You are projecting about social finesse at this point and clearly someone who is socially or financially intellectually stunted with this amount of aggression. I hope you find peace anon.

I’m 30 btw.
>>
>>62294899

Yes, I've spoken it to all of my friends and family over the years too. No one else seems to really get it. But they're starting to now that I'm early retiring at age 31. This is why we get paid, the ability to just set and invest is actually unique and remarkable and we get to compound thanks to the goybux flowing in.
>>
>>62294904
having tact and grace means conforming to their standard of being nothing more than carbon based slaves (that AI will replace anyways)
>>
>>62294905
You are the one that made a post on 4chan complaining about your interactions with wageslaves and mentally shadowboxing arguments that didn't happen. If you're actually 30 years old then thats just sad, most people grow out of this 4chan angstposting when they're like 19, so no matter how much money you have you're still a manchild.
>>
>>62294904
Correct. Even if you are right, only manchildren and intellectually disabled spergs go about shouting about it.
>>
>>62294913

This dude is insisting OP must have done something incendiary to set someone off in a financial discussion and he himself went off the rails ass blasted based off of nothing but the suggestion that he doesn't understand money lmfao
>>
>>62294913
yeah well said
Normal well adjusted 30 year olds should be poor wage slaves like you!
>>
>>62294916
I don't think he was shouting about it and telling wagies "you're fucking stupid for not saving". I think he was trying to connect with them about finance, you know like how they connect about meaningless bullshit like media consumption, and it hurts them because he's getting ahead and their lives are going nowhere.
>>
>>62294919
Nobody is assblasted, little boy. Its very obvious OP (probably you on a different device btw) that the way this engagement came about and how it started and ended is missing about 90% of the detail, your miserable and retarded personality.

Well hey, I’m happy how I am buddy and enjoying my life.

Just wanted to ask if anyone understands the psychology and hear their experiences making conversation.

You shouldn’t let others conversations bother you anon. Coming to posts to be derogatory and aggressive to strangers online is quite immature. Take your own advice if this is the case hun. I don’t gotta conform to your ideas and beliefs of how I should act at my age when I’m living and thriving. Not to mention fulfilled and happy.

Stop projecting anon. I just want my friends to experience the same.
>>
>>62294926
they could have all of that and not having to be a wageslave when they're 40
>>
>>62294921
Most normal people upon hearing about investing and alternative ways of accumulating wealth, do not launch in to this interrogation that OP wrote fanfiction about. He's missing out the key details, and I suspect the way he got himself in to this was the way he conveyed it and is probably a sperg. Just telling the truth
>>
>>62294926
You know what? If they enjoy their life good for them. But they sure bitch a lot about it. I’ve never heard a rich person who saved or came from old money bitch about the market yelling at them or threatening to fire them. Just only when it goes under.

But if they’re happy with those complaints? Good for them. You’re right anon.
>>
>>62294927
You are coming across as a very sensitive and spergy young man. You posted on /biz/ begging for reassurance and to "laugh at le normies" because someone challenged you on your retarded lack of social grace and you clearly got very offended by it.

I'm just telling you that 4chan isn't going to reinforce and support your narcissistic personality disorder. Nobody said anything about happiness, you are projecting now. You are a 30 year old man that is so thin-skinned, you needed this aging millennial japanese imageboard to suck you off when you got bitchslapped by reality. Pathetic

Do you feel better? Do you like having hostile eyes upon you because nice ones feel uncomfortable because they never happened?

I’m sorry anon. I hope this fulfills you in some way besides short term. That or I hope you find success.
>>
>>62294980
I haven't talked about myself this whole thread. Are you a woman by any chance? I cannot imagine a 30 year old man typing like this. This only supports the argument I'm making that you have zero social skills and clearly come in to a lot of friction and conflict with people who aren't terminally online, and you use 4chan as a kind of a imaginary friend reinforcement of your retardation and mental illness. Whats up with those normies amirite guys?
>>
>>62294980
Just take the L and walk away. The more you respond, the more you make a fool of yourself.
>>
>>62294932
Agreed. OP probably called his mom a wagie goycuck when she told him that dumping all his money into the market and trying to retire at 30 was retarded. He then went on 4chan to look for validation and is now crashing out in the thread because people here are calling him retarded too.
>>
>>62294932

>>
I lost over 200k on crapcoins
>>

>hi buddy you doing good? had a tough week down at the plant haha makes you wonder why anybody does this amirite haha

And his response was:

>err you know you could just invest in Roth IRA, high yield savings, and diversify your ETF Dividend portfolio utilizing FIRE method? Sounds like you've taken the bluepill like a poor little goycuck goycattle betamale
>>
>>62294870
Status quo bias
>>
I don’t interact with poor people much but my experience is that they get upset if they hear that they actually have agency. that there is a way out through their own actions feels like an attack on them. easier to think you’re just a victim of circumstance. so if you say I’ve done x, y, or z, they think you’re saying you’re better than them. and in a way you are saying that and you are in fact better than them. the poor are superstitious in a way that reduces the role of their own agency. if you do well, you are merely lucky. if you do badly, it has to do with fate, not your own actions.
>>
I side with OP, poor people are irrational.

If you're 100% honest with poor working class people they will hate you.
You have to lie and say you have a job, a mortgage, problems, etc. because they don't want to hear about you winning.

Just get your money and live your life and be careful how you present yourself around poors they're like a different caste of lower human.
>>
It's the inability to think further ahead than just the next month or year.
My Father has been showing me newspaper clippings of "GOLD PRICES SOAR HIGHER THAN EVER!" for at least the last 15 years, with the usual comment of "I should have bought Gold years ago!". We have this conversation every year, and I tell him that NOW is the time to buy, but what does he say? "No, it's so high right now, I'm sure it can't go any higher. You can only lose if you buy now!"

>>
>>62295155
I recently saw a YouTube video where a guy showed what it would look like if you invested $1,000 every month into the S&P500 if you bought at the absolute worst time (highest price) for each month for seven years. It still made a ton of money. Even if you had the worst luck in human history and chose the worst day to invest every single time you still come out ahead.
>>
>>62294881

>Bro i know you barely make ends meet already, but if you put 90% of your income into #FARTPEPE you'll be rich bro! I made a killing on it using mommy's creditcard that one time. Why are you so angry bro, don't you want to be a smart investor like me? Why do you hate investing? Why are you subhuman worker trash incapable of understanding simple financial advice? I'm just trying to help!
>>
>>62295155
And when the price is down, like in 2015 where gold dropped down to $1,000 after a peak around $1,700, it’s "I’m not buying this shit lol". Whatever happens, there’s always a good excuse to do nothing.
>>

>>62295173
Yeah, it's the simple saying of "Time in the market beats timing the market".
I always knew I'd be investing from the time I actually earned enough money (which wasn't until I turned 29) until I either get enough for a nice House or I turn 45. Neither has happened yet, but I sleep like a baby while watching the money grow.

you'll understand when the stock market has a real crash, there's a reason there's lots of laws to protect pleb investors. How does losing 80% of your money and then crabbing for 30 years sound?

>>62294870
>>62294872

For a lot of people it's a mindset that many never actually obtain. Many people have a high time preference thay revolves around instant gratification. They get their monthly pay and spaff it on frivolities and consumables like drugs, alcohol or funko pop tier BS. People with low time preference understand the need for investments and savings knowing that they will benefit down the line from dividends or having a back up fund when the income dries up.
Some people learn the hard way but many simply don't learn, particularly those in welfare states.
>>
>>62295173
>DCA for 7 years
And wait for decades to outlast any crash that might occur which basically means you're sacrificing your youth to become a wealthy geriatric. Good idea if you want to afford those Gucci diapers which are very comfy for old scrotums.

When the average normie has an unexpected windfall of money, the first thing that pops into their head is "what should I spend this money on?". It's like a reflex that has been embedded into them since childhood. They've been programmed by an endless stream of marketing campaigns at every stage of their life to become the ultimate consumers.

Many people are eventually able to break out of this mindset and start to invest long term, but it's usually a process that lasts several years. One or two conversations is not enough to undo a lifetime of programming
>>
>>62295361
*takes and puts on*
>>
>>62295385
I remember talking to an attorney who’s firm would advise a lot of lottery winners. He said it took on average 3-5 years for the lottery winners to be able to change their mindset from "spend money as fast as I can" to "I need to protect my money". Which is why like 70% of all lottery winners declare bankruptcy within 5 years. They’re not able to change their mindset fast enough and will instinctively try to spend it all
>>
>>62295211
>bro, you need to hold AT LEAST for 40 years!
Bitchass mentality right there.
Do you even invest, or are you just trading?
>>
>>62295428
Also every single person they've ever met will try to talk them into giving them some. They'll give in to their parents or kids or favorite cousin then the race is on
>but you gave some to X why aren't you sharing with meeeee why are you so meeeeean
And your parents/kids will say
>don't bogart that stash you should share your good fortune with X, Y, and Z and all their relatives as well
Which is why you should never ever let anybody know you've come into a windfall. Just move away and drop contact before enjoying your winnings.
