It has its uses but really most people speculating about it have no fucking idea how any of it works and just think "well, quantum sounds sci fi, and computers make money, so a sci fi computer must make a ton of money". Also, media keeps spamming and building fake hype over muh huge breakthroughs when, although it is true that advaces are being made, realistically we are as far away from a functional profitable quantum computer as the AI pioneers from the 80s were from ChatGPT. We have neither the theory nor the hardware and we are not close to having them.
