Why do we call them Yuropoors and laugh at their shitty $40k annual salaries, yet a random ass house on one of their Mediterranean islands is $3.2 million euros? How is their real estate so expensive if their wages are trash?

Like I make 400k a year in murricuh and I have no hope of being able to buy a very average property in Europe unless my NW hits $10 mil maybe
>>
>>62303431
Retard, you are looking at huge houses in Mallorca, the equivelant would be me looking at 10000 square feet mansions in Marthas wineyard and presuming all burgers live like that.

>t.yuropoor living in a 160square meter house with 22ha land in Lapland
>>
>>62303431
Those who own these houses are the ones who *pay* your shitty salary
>>
People into their 40s are living with their parents.
Then inheriting something if they're lucky.
That's it.

Not really.

K shaped economy, obviously.

Here in Lux, that’s the price for a random 2-bedroom apartment in a building that looks like this
>>
>>62303738
I can see the graffiti in 20 years when it's become social housing.
I mean, AI will enforce citizens to be on their best behavior, but the two tier society will continue, obviously.
>>
>>62303431
because the houses are not bought by us yuropoors. They are bought by chinese and russians who want to get money out of their country
>>
>>62303431
Inheritance and the buyers are americans, chinese and brown people.

>paying 2M euro to live in fucking Germany
I will never understand some people
>>
>>62305303
Its a house with 4 separate apartments that are rented out, not single family home
>>
>>62303738
Do Vancouver next. Least that 2m buys you white neighbours.
>>
>>62305303
So I got 4m and hate my city. Where would you ho live?
>>

Dubai if you want to get rich, Southern Europe if you like it more and just want to chill in life
Germany makes zero sense for literally anything. There's no linear combination of preferences that results in Germany, except for "I want born here and my family or friends are here" which is usually an excuse to not do anything
>>
>>62307204
Germany is still the number one destination for Eastern Europeans to go to get money.
Here's your linear progression:
1. Born in E.U.
2. In Eastern Europe
3. Need job/money
4. Move to Germany
5. Because it's easy to get a job and money
>>
>>62303765
Lux won't be subjected to this. It's a tiny non state that elite euros are using to keep their bank accounts, like Monaco or Cayman.
>>
>>62303431
in yurop the working class are permanently locked out of owning good property and have been for 3000 fucking years

big brag you got there. Most of those properties are owned by literal nobility.
>>
>>62308131
>implying some fucking middle class wagie in American can own anything but an OSB cuckbox
>>
>>62308162
I didn't imply anything about america, you literal retard
>>
>>62308164
>>62308131
With a small amount of money you can buy a chateau or castle in France, once owned and built by literal feudal aristocrats.
You're just wrong and bitter.
>>
>>62308280
Cost of ownership and tax are massive though
>>
>>62308343
Sure, but the fact that a random American can buy an ancient castle or chateau days a lot.
>>
>>62308280
>Europeans can't afford nice property
>but Americans can!
You're retarded
>>
>>62303431
aren't houses outside of tourist destinations and major cities much cheaper? spain's home ownership rate is 74%.
>>
>>62303431
I live in this island, the Balearics have more tourism than whole countries like Brazil. Those properties are bought mostly by wealthy yuropeans from Germany, UK, Austria, Switzerland or Sweden. It is mostly a Mediterranean theme park for rich people.
>>
>>62303431
because it's on a fucking mediterranean island, you shitwizard
go look up property prices in hawaii or the florida keys
>>
>>62308343
Completely wrong. In a lot of europe you literally get tax breaks for owning property. Here you can write off
>brokerage fees
>mortgage interest
>land ownership costs
>property maintenace costs
Property tax is ~0.1% which is significantly less than these benefits.

Europeans don't invest in stocks or even bonds. They just hold savings and put everything into their home. Our systems are designed to reward this kind of investing and it's popular so it wont change. They will increase taxes on capital gains and income but they wont touch the sacred housing benefits because everyone ties their wealth in it.
It's a terrible system which pulls up the ladder for young and disinherited people and doesn't stimulate the economy at all. Building new homes here is a nightmare since everyone lobbies against you because they have an active interest in doing so and it costs nothing.
OP is a retard cherrypicking but housing is very unaffordable here for these reasons. Our solution isn't encouraging development or trying to move away from an economy designed to drive house prices up, instead we have abundant socialized housing as a band aid. If you aren't a single mother, a nigger, or willing to wait literal decades for a gibes house then you're fucked though and have to slum it in a shared house with moroccans and albanians.
>>
>>62303431
Because that's just a small portion of homes and foreigners buy lots of those places anyways.

What do you need 345m2 space for, retard. Let me guess, you also need chairs for big guys, you cornsyrup junkie?
>>
>>62308544
You still have to pay these maintenance costs and they are enormous, French castles are notorious money pits
>>
because the people buying the houses arent making 40k

same reason the average guy in ohio isnt buying beach houses in malibu

every european on this website pretends they're a school teacher making 38k while somehow living next to a vineyard thats been in the family since napoleon
>>
>>62309104
I'm not talking about ridiculous properties like castles and bullshit I am talking about upper middle class homes worth 700k-1.5m or so. The amount of tax relief they get is insane and home ownership costs are not that high. Even normal homes worth ~300-400k claim immense relief.
Nobody gives a fuck about some Arab prince or Rothschild living in a 20m palace there are not meaningful quantities of these things.
>>
>>62307917
nobody is moving from Poland to Germany in 2026.
In fact, official statistics show the opposite - remigration back to Poland.
