Now they are forcing UBER to almost double their prices because taxi drivers demanded it (since their prices were so expensive nobody would use them anymore). So now all we have is absurd UBER prices.

uber revolutionized taxis for me
before uber i was utterly loathe to take a taxi
>ring the taxi company
>background noise
>some mumbling arab on the phone
>spitting at you
>doesn't even appear to want your custom
>no idea what the price will be
>no idea how long it will take
>taxi driver is probably an illegal
but now it is consistently a great experience and simply how taxis should be
>put in my exact location and destination
>told exactly what it will cost
>told exactly where the driver is
>told exactly what vehicle they are in
>drivers have a rating so cars are always clean and they are always pleasant
>plus there are tips
>riders also have a rating and drivers are given discretion about who they want to take
i honestly struggle to think of any other industry which has been so much improved by a singular app
it's not good that uber has such a monopoly but taxi companies deserved this by being so shit that they couldn't compete
if uber really was just added cost then it wouldn't be competitive but not only is it more convenient and more pleasant it isn't even more expensive
i don't believe for one moment that it is actually worse for most drivers either because before they needed a taxi agency which undoubtedly siphoned their revenues whereas now they are essentially independent under uber

I unironically do
>>62308551
YOU FUCKING RETARD PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE THE PROBLEM
They were offering the same service for cheaper. CLEARLY they were making less money then the corrupt taxxi assholes. And muh poor workers, they earn their normale wage, give them extra if you want. If they would earn so little they would just ask for Bürgergeld (social welfare). So clearly they were the far more efficient service compared to that old bullshit taxi system.
>>62308590
Yes exactly and the german government hates on it since the very start and put out media campaigns against it, and now they are jsut trying to bruteforce UBER out.

>i don't believe for one moment that it is actually worse for most drivers either because before they needed a taxi agency which undoubtedly siphoned their revenues whereas now they are essentially independent under uber
Oh yeah this system is max extraction, and the government takes massive share with licences and shit.
>>
>>62308629
German here. take as much as you can from the gov and give them nothing. dont work (schwarzarbeit is ok). Stop saving/using euro so inflation tax wont work. That way we can actually make a difference by not giving this hostile shit government money.

lel the cattle ladies and gentlemen
>>62308629
you VILL pay for the uber license
>>
>>62308551
If Americans making money is the problem, then ban UBER but allow equivalent European alternatives

The reason drivers are "fleeced" is because the there's an abundance of people who can drive a car, so drivers have little negotiating leverage.
>>

>abundance of people who can drive a car
allowed to yes, can no
>>
>>62308626
>If they would earn so little they would just ask for Bürgergeld (social welfare).
You think the illegals aren't leeching off welfare? Lol

>>62308768
>so drivers have little negotiating leverage.
They have little negotiating leverage since Uber claims to just be a middle man linking you to an independent driver that has to get paid through them. That way they can circumvent some fees, taxes and social security.
>>
>>62311555
Checked. So they dont actually get fleeced if they collect welfare aswell. Only the government. Which is not my problem.
>>
>>62308626
Oh no, you have to accept it when a big hostile company uses shareholder money to crush all the competition via price dumping, hires illegal workers from India who do not pay taxes, and then when all the competition has given up increases the prices in its newly created monopoly in something as innovative as a taxi service.

Only smart people can run a taxi service you must accept our smart American (((innovation)))
>>
>>62308768
There is also an abundance of people who can operate an app like Uber.

The thing is that Uber uses stakeholder money to crush the competition and to create a monopoly.

No productive value is generated by this kind of capitalism.

Also, a lot of people in Germany who work for Uber or Delivery Hero are working illegally and were scammed into debt by being promised a job at a big German company and then they have to work gigs 12 hours a day. It is basically like slavery.

>>62308545
If you run a restaurant and have to follow all the restaurant regulations but then someone create a app and have random people just cooking in their kitchen with no food safety i think you would have a problem with that as well
Even if you might disagree with some of the regulations
Taxi drivers have to follow certain rules and regulations and it's part of why the price is higher and they don't want to be undercut by uber
>>
>>62314512
I dont have any problem with streetfood. In fact i dont go to german restaurants anymore because of the absurd prices but go gladly to tropical countries and eat streetfood. And with food it even makes more sense. With taxis its just literal extortion. And please dont tell me that the arab taxi drivers are good at driving.
>>
>>62308545
Abduallah needs more money for his children chud.
>>
>>62314310
Then regulate UBER more and force competition if you want. But dont force high prices. And not paying taxes, i dont see the problem.
