It was always retarded because it doesn't stop you from making horrible decisions. How does a daytrade limit help you when you can still buy an OTM option that expires in 24 hours? If it was really to protect poorfags from themselves, they shouldn't be allowed to touch options or any leverage. Only buy and sell.
