On the one hand I have really enjoyed just DCA into an ETF for investing, on the other hand I feel like I am missing out on more potential gains whether through investing in single stocks, or doing options trading
Or another idea, just getting an additional income source for more principal and fuck chasing rates of return
How does biz handle these thoughts and are there any money making tips your have (i have a full time salary job)

You can put 75% of your investment in reddit vanguard etfs and invest like a real man with the other 25%

sounds fair enough, my idea was getting 100k in VOO as a sort of backbone then exploring options
at 60k as of now, have only invested a little more than a year

One of the most underappreciated things about DCAing into a broad ETF is that you can 100% focus on other things in your life. As soon as you start picking stocks or picking sector ETFs or whatever... you'll slowly but surely start thinking about the market more every day. Soon enough it will grow into an addiction. And stock pickers are more likely to lose to ETFs in the long term.
So, do you want to live your life fully and get rich over time or check your portfolio every second you are not busy, lose sleep, drain your mental health and underperform the market.

what about covered calls...are they even worth

no

But picking stock and looking at charts is fun and I have hours and hours of free time at work, anyways nobody needs to "out perform the market over 30 years", just need to outperform it for 3 years in a bull market and you've shaved off 15 years of being a fucking linpwristed boring faggot .

i have just invested in VOO and have a return of 20% on my portfolio
I dunno that seems good versus guessing
Like why not just go into Micron at retire bro, i dunno cause I didnt know

Yeah but there are lots of opportunities where is it bacially not guessing, its not like the global chip shortage was a surprise.

I don't like paying taxes which is what you have to do if you stock pick. It's also a lot of effort just to look back and realise you didn't beat VOO anyway.

fair enough
any idea what the next big thing is (genuine)

Like you should probably have a couple months expenses in treasuries before you start investing, the next thing you can shoot for is a small amount of dividend etfs (not yieldmax nigger trash or even neos slop for that matter...but more like schd) so you have some cash flow so you can eat and pay your phone bill without selling. After that you can afford to risk more. On the other hand, if you have strong family support and cant fail, might as well go straight for yolo.
