Maybe but you will need considerable capital to bring them up to western standards. In my experience buying real estate in latin america is not worth it as you have to jump through a million hoops and often need to have a local business partner or become a resident to even be allowed to buy anything.

Excavator rental. A small excavator is fairly affordable and they really need to get up to par fast once it happens.

If you REALLY want to get directly into tourism, build a sound truck (essentially it's a hybrid truck with a fattt battery and a fattt tank to power a sound system on the truck bed) and set up an open air rave on a beach somewhere. Even Accounting for changing tastes there's still a very party hungry audience out there that is simply completely priced out of most established core locations. If you can get in on the ground floor by making Cuba the new Ibiza you'll make your money back ez. Especially because of the proximity to very affluent and libertine cities.


Even outside of the location specific hurdles landlording simply isn't fun without incredibly fat stacks going in. As in. At least 3 times the naked purchasing price in liquid assets. Especially if you aren't renting to people that have no choice but to be there.
