just open a short position equivalent to the amount you want to sell. Does anyone do this? As long as you don’t need the cash, I don’t see why you would ever sell and realize capital gains
>>62337101The IRS calls this a constructive sale. Have fun with the audit and eventual back taxes bill.;^)
>>62337138Neat, I didn’t know that. Thanks anon
but every time I sell, the price immediately increases. why would I want to short in that case?
>>62337138huh? since when are you not allowed to hedge?>>62337500dont listen to this retard
>>62337533Because you also own the stock, probably in larger proportion than the short and also in profit. So either your short prints, or your portfolio goes up in net even if your short gets stopped out. If your aren't going to sell the stock (OPs premise) this is a win win.
>>62337589I’m so confused kek I’m doing it now but it’s just a poorfag bag so IRS daddy isn’t coming for me yet (if I’m doing anything wrong at all)
