At what point do you get to stop working. When your stocks hit 500kUSD? 1 million?
>>62337131Your age is probably more important of a variable than your portfolio. 1 million is unacceptable unless you're like 60 minimum. If you're young, 500k MIGHT be the point where you can work part time, so you can continue letting the 500k grow for 20 years untouched. You may need a roommate or something though so you make absolute sure not to touch the 500k. If you're working part time and in a lower tax backet, at least it's the perfect time to do 401k roth conversions.
I bought a choco taco once, and the shell was soggy. Big disappointment.
>>62337131I Miss this Type of ice cream so much
>>62337131Depends on lifestyle, age and where you live. If you're like every other retard on this board, you like to buy flash as a show of wealth. In that case, 1 million is nowhere near enough. You'll blow through it in no time.If you're 40, live reasonably simply and somewhere where you're not getting crushed by mortage or rent, $2 million might be enough - assuming you keep it permanently invested and withdraw only what you need.
I like my job. I work like 2 hours a day and get compensated for 8.T. Mailman
If you get a wife, and especially if you have children, you will work forever. No amount of money is ever enough if you have children. You always need more, and your wife will refuse to see you sit down and do nothing. Also, you yourself will want to work more if you have kids- it's a paternal instinct.
>>62337131how much do you need per year to live a good life + pay taxes? What is that amount as a percentage of your invested capital? What is the annual return on your investment? If you have $500k invested and a 10% annual return, you make $50k/yr in interest. You would probably be safe only taking out half of the yearly growth, which would be 5% in this case. If you can live a comfortable life on $25k - taxes, then $500k is your number, if you need $50, then $1mil and so on. I would look to have to several multiples of my yearly spend though. So if I can live on $50k per year, I'd probably still want $2.5m-3m working for me. Track your portfolio and you can adjust for exactly what you need to add on a weekly to monthly basis and it will be less and less over time until you're only working 10-20hrs per week by your mid 40s to early 50s. Also: keep your body healthy and fit. Health is wealth and preventative medicine is the best medicine.

>>62337222>If you have $500k invested and a 10% annual returnThat is a completely unrealistic goal unless you're willing to just gamble constantly. Assume 5% for reasonable safety.
>>62337235i've averaged like 22% for the last 5 years
>>62337212Yeah luckily no wife or kids yet. I’m 38 so it probably won’t ever happen. Living costs here in Canada for a 1bdroom with conservative spending is like 32,000-50,000 CAD. The original price in the OP is in USD. I should technically have enough an average of 10% gains. I do plan to out perform the market. So I do expect more than 10% gains
>>62337131Depends on where you live. In the US you can start to think part-time when your portfolio hits 10 million to upkeep your professionalism for the eventual inflation.
>>62337393yes, that's the problem
>>623371312 mil I quit completely 1.5 mil I probably change jobs to locums contracted labor and do that for 2 years while i keep saving more.
>>62337393wow 5 whole years? in the biggest bull market in history?
>>62337194rip>>62337178>>62337197wtfi thought this was an autism website but it turns out it's dead & all the autists are dead or somewhere else
>>62337466no since 2019 but not counting that cause didn't have much yet
>>62337466Also probably only investing in stocks. The point of investing during retirement is to switch to something considerably more conservative. 60/40 or 50/50 stocks and bonds. Lowers your return rate but significantly buffers you against big swings. A big point of "retirement" is not having to constantly worry about money, imo.
>>62337393Unironically underperformed with those numbers
Can I retire with 500k if I move to Thailand or Argentina? My pay will max out at 100k and I'm 29 (though I will have a pension) I have 40k in a 403b and 30k in an options trading account and 10k in btc
>>62337430>I’m 38 so it probably won’t ever happen. It's not that old.> I do plan to out perform the market. Not possible for normalfags.>>62337212This post has made me want to cum again in my black wife's chocolate pussy.
>>62337393>>62337466SNDK went up 40-50x over the past year. At the very least you should've slurped and burped last year and this year's ram, flash and the delicious intel and amd gains. Muh gains, muh testicles. Outperforming the boomer goy market is a boglehead meme. BTW, bogleheads are utterly subhuman and VT is a meme.
>>62337765no you can't, because of inflation and ladyboys sucking the liquidity out of you
>>62337131You don't need a million dollars to stop working.
>>62339506This. I stop working for like 6 months to a year every few years so I don't kill myself.
>>62337131If you weren't part of the top 10% in 2025, you're lower class
