>>62342806In the grand scheme of thing 30k isn't that bad of a loss to wait out. Maybe 200k+ would be a lot worse. Most can save 20k a year so look at it as a year. The more 20ks you stack the worse it is. So my rule is I don't invest more than 20k on something if I'm not sure of it, that's not the s&p 500 VOO or VT.

So i barely spoke to anyone for 5 years, which just amplified the shyness and made me even more socially inept.The lonesomeness made me drink more, and my grades began to suffer.At the end, it cost me around ~$70K, I don't use my degree so it's basically worthless now, but the real killer is the opportunity cost, 5 years i could have been earning money, 5 years of being (forced) to socialize at work - which, i know now, would have a dramatic impact on my ability to socialize and basically cure me of my shyness.

I invested into fricking starbucks right as covid hit. Starbucks was not the play, ironically, if I invested into McDonalds as I planned I would've made a shit ton of money, but I didn't have enough cash for a long call worth 13k at the time. Lesson learned, don't cheap out, but it still would've been my worst investment decision, dumping all my money into one long call on a stock is absolute ape behavior and I knew it.

I couldn't get that image out of my head when I'd sell to kids my age. I didn't want to be the one that sent them down that path. But yea the profit margin was insane if you had a solid clientele. Buy a half pound for 650 and sell it off almost gram by gram. Almost a 400% profit margin.
