AI can plan coding halfway decent already, this is way way more complex than plumbing, so it's not a matter of ability, just a need for correct training data and integration of hardware, optimization of the algorithms used for real time capability, and a few other minor things. Path planning, object recognition and motion control works, down to superhuman dexterity, it's just a matter of task planning now.
