It's leveling system will always be mediocre due to technical limitations. No cool cutscenes, it's music will always be chiptune and you'll never really get to have a good look at the characters. Scenes like Auron giving that speech before Yunalesca, or Sephiroth killing that Snake or even seeing Zidane after learning about his origins and the party members keep showing up to help him as he pushes them away while "You are not alone" plays in the background. I mean come on. VI is like a creature that evolved but found itself stuck with a limitation and no matter what it does it just can't transcend.
