Put 95% of it in a broad market index fund
Gamble the last 5% on whatever you want

not op, but I might as well piggyback off his thread
I have a large amount of crypto profits (hundreds of thousands of dollars) that I'm thinking of using to invest in private US startups as an angel investor
Thinking of investing $10k-$20k per startup in shit like AI, fintech, biotechnology and other high-potential/disruptive industries. I have a bit over $1 million net worth not including my home, so I'm accredited
Problem is I've never 'invested' in anything other than crypto before, so for the past few weeks I've been googling to learn about traditional startup company investing and how to research and pick the best ones
Is this a good way to go? I'm aware that like 90% of startups fail in the first 5 years, but I'm willing to take the risk. I don't mind holding for several years and I'm not rushing for a profit, just trying to find that one unicorn startup that ends up going past $1 billion valuation at IPO so I can own 0.5%-5% of it
And yeah, I know about "just put it in index funds, bro" and how much more safer/reliable it is. But I'm a risk-taker that prefers "bigger risk, bigger reward", that's how I made so much in crypto
