>>62364254Nah. I am a "financial mutant" that can live happily on an extremely small amount and I invested/saved like 60% of my income for like 7 years to get plenty to put down on a house. I did the house hacking thing where I have 3 roommates pay my mortgage for me, that way I can put like 80% of my income into retirement now. I will admit my mom gave me her old car. It's ugly as sin, but super reliable, so there's that I guess. If I grew up in the boomer economy or started saving money before 2008 house crash, I'd be retired at 40 most likely.

I would never judge someone who didn't have a house paid off by 40, if it's a 30 year mortgage then theyd have to start paying at 10.
