Someone offered me a job where I only work monday-wednesday. The pay is 60k a year + 10% pension. 40% of the hours is literally just driving out of 28 hours per week. The site is 10 minutes away from my place. This salary is pretty average for where I live. They even offer a 2 day work week and the salary by then would still be enough to cover my life comfortably. It sounds comfy as fuck.

I am currently doing an appship to become an electrician because I fell for the trade meme (im 32). Its fine an all, but it doesn't excite and I don't care particularly about the field. I also sense that there has been a surge of applicants in the previous years because everyone got told to do a trade.

Am I dumbass to not take the offer? Its a pretty narrow, dead-end job for sure, but the effort-to-pay ratio and lifestyle benefits are hitting pretty hard ngl

Depends, do you value your time or want to pursue creative endeavors?
>>
>>62365357
I value time for time's sake, but I suspect Id struggle to fill out my time with anything constructive
>>
sounds ideal unless the work is crap
>>
>>62365342
Idk man. You're being very vague. Just tell us what the actual job is.

HA I knew it was you Kevin i'm going to tell everyone you use 4chan and then you won't get the job
But no really it sounds great do it and maybe see if you can do reduced hours on the apprenticeship

It sounds pretty cool.

>>62365423
any kind of food service directly interfacing with customers sounds like hell

also 60k is nothing but I guess if you are uneducated it's good?
>>
Honestly not bad since its only 3 days a week. There has to be a catch, like youre gonna smell like fish all the time or its in an extremely hcl area.

It's physically demanding for those 3 days. OP needs to be physically strong and be able to handle 12 - 14 hour shifts for those 3 days. Food service truckers don't back up to a loading bay. He's going to have to physically stack 200 - 300 pounds of equipment onto a handjack and get it up and down narrow staircases and hallways.

Its very limited customer contact, mostly just drop and drive. I have a meme degree, its weighed against becoming an electrician
also 60k is pretty average here and my rent is like 700 bucks, fixed expenses of around 1,2 k
>>62365532
No everything is packed and ordered on dollies, you just roll them off the lift ramp and into the kitchen
>>
>>62365532
and its 28 hours per week, 3 days, so around 9 hours per day with 4 hours of driving approx
>>
Do you want to have a future or are you ok with being a loser? Do you want kids or a family one day? 60k wouldn’t pay for shit if you have kids.
>>
>>62365650
How would it make me a loser? Likely yes, girlfriend definitely does, she makes good money herself so its not really an issue with money
>>
>>62365524
Greg leave Kevin alone.

Nigga daycare costs as much as a six figure mortgage. If you have more than one your entire paycheck will go to the daycare Jews. Then your wife will cheat on you with her boss.

I live in scandinavia, things are much different here, trust me. I can easily afford a mortgage, 2 kids and savings with my gf on that 60k per year, like I said electricians here usually dont make much more than 80k. 100k would be a ceiling definitely.
>>
>>62365729
Oh well that’s a completely different story and I say absolutely you should take it.
>>

Oh, then take the job bro.
