>lost the AI race to pretty much everyone else>OS is becoming so shitty, people are actually switching to Linux>gaming division has been nuked>fired whites to hire indians and then fired those indianswhat keeps them afloat?
>>62369733The OS being so shitty switching to linux is so true.. I am so fed up with windows if i wasnt addicted to league of legends i would be on linux rn
>>62369733They fired the Indians? When? The Redmond area is still swarming with them.
>>62369737This imo, the day AutoCad becomes available for Linux natively and vidya gets better support im FUCKING done with Israeli spyware disguised as a American operating system for good.
>>62369733They make a shitton of money with Azure and that's not going to change anytime soon, unfortunately.
>>62369733If you haven’t figured it out by now because you’re a little bit slow Microsoft is a government sponsored corporation to spy on allies and everyone. Similar to Meta and Google. These aren’t real companies in the sense that you believe them to be. These are state sponsored corporations.
Linux is still AIDS for most users. You shouldn't get kernal errors just installing Mint on a computer or have to look up console commands to do basic shit or have a choice between a gorillion distros, but that's STILL a thing in the year 2026 and will turn users away.Their de facto status in business sector will carry them further than many people realise. It doesn't matter how good Libre office is, the turn away from the Office suite will be incredibly slow.Azure is only just behind AWS for could infrastructure, that's no going anywhere anytime soon.
>>62369762How are you this retarded. My god. All of you. Sooo fucking retard. Zorin os has a gaming division and it kicks ass. Every game I own runs on it just fine. If you don't want to use zorin os, just use bottles apps on any linux. It's a windows container system for games and apps without full Linux support. I stopped using windows 11 a long ass time ago.
>>62369799>Zorinliterally who lol
>>62369733institutional momentum. there's a lot of software that only works on windows, at least reliably so.
>>62369733>what keeps them afloat?idk megalodon institutions and like 90% of all corporations?
>>62369750>>62369737Guaranteed you could run league on some handholding distro right now and not notice a difference. I've got a normie silverlight flavor (bluefin, but they're all basically the same shit) that runs steam games right now no issue, even the non native onesAutoCAD and other real programs will still probably be a bit buggy though
>>62369733Boomer execs
>>62369733office365 and enterprise hosting. The quality is beyond abysmal and I hope they fold.
>>62369762Libre office overwrites your files because of an autosave bug on Windows/NTFS (they designed it for Linux's filesystem and refuse ro change it because egotistical FOSS assholes are assholes).>Just use it on LinuxMy assumption is that similar bugs exist that affect Linux builds which will similarly never be fixed. I would never use Libre Office for anything important.
>>62369733Doesn't matter how shitty it is, every single business and corpo on earth is forced to use it along with their office/email/meeting software suite.
>>62369914Just adding, it's not all FOSS. Blender is a powerhouse, ffmpeg is irreplaceable, SmartTube Next rocks. Great projects contributed to and run by people who actually have the users in mind, and aren't using it just to try to fluff their portfolio or lord over a small digital fiefdom.
>>62369733Its painful and costly for businesses to switch suppliers, they would need to facing serious losses compared to if they were with the competitor to even consider switching, and even then they'll probably draft up a low integral change plan where they switch providers 10% of the business every year or two, as a continuity against anything that could go wrong.
>>62369881league requires a kernel anticheat because league players are subhuman. anticheats are the main thing keeping certain games windows only nowadays
>>62369733>people are actually switching to Linuxwish I could, I'm 200% dependent on the office suite, no virtualizations or free software can fix that in a way that matters
>>62370058hey thats rude we are not subhuman.. at least not all of us
>>62369733No large office based business is switching to fucking Linux. Our place swapped M365 to Google suite and it's a fucking disaster. It doesn't matter if a few nerds switch to Linux, it'll only matter if big banks and other huge companies do it which is never happening.
because they have government contracts, university contracts, and azure.
>>62370058>kernel anticheatI don't want to go full /g/ on you, but man, there's gotta be a less intrusive way to get your vidya fix anon
>>62370163We use m365 in our small business and holy shit the number of times they do an overnight patch that breaks the form or function of outlook or excel is way too goddamn high. My fresh booted work desktop idles at 6.5gb ram footprint ffs. Its insane. I've been thinking about doing my work on a personal nix machine at this point because I legit think I'd be more productive
>>62370181Riot raped my life and got me addicted to their game when it was better than crack in 2011I was 15 then and now im 30. This is my story and what riot did to me.
>OS is so shitty, people are actually switching to LinuxFind a single respectable company that doesn't have 100% Windows PCs, outside of the creative field
>>62369799>Zorin OSThis is why no one uses Linux. There are a thousand different distros and every time a normie ask about it someone recommends a no name, strung together, POS OS that'll only do half the things people need it to do. Until Linux consolidates to ONE distro that does everything an "just works" without ever having to open a command terminal it'll never have more than 10% market share.
>>62369914>LibreOffice>want to select all footnotes at once>you can’t lol, gotta select each footnote one by one>oh you’ve got thousands of footnotes and a tight deadline? not our problem lolThis is not a professional piece of software
>>62369733>OS is becoming so shitty, people are actually switching to LinuxThis is exaggerated. 1% isn't significant.
