If you are referring to the US, one of the reasons for this is there was a greater appetite for dollars outside the US than in it. However, things have changed since the dollar system was politicized.

money exists to be spent. if you don't spend, there are no jobs, there is no development, there are no goods and services. the purpose of an economy is to produce things, not to hoard money. we can already see that the "free market", left to its own devices, prefers to hoard rather than spend, and uses hoarded resources to oppress and stifle growth rather than encourage it

Hmm those corporate taxes seem kinda low
>>
>>62379035
Until jfk, we didn't have a deficit (he was the first one to cut taxes for economic growth). Even then, it took until Reagan for tax cuts to turn into a massive problem, with him basically halving them and double national debt in his time. Trump did the same thing (rich nigga tax cuts) and it tripled national debt, then that problem doubled under biden. The government has been collecting more of your taxes and less taxes of the people who actually have money to foot the bill. This shit is what caused the french revolution; king louis said, "we're broke dead fucking poor. Nobles, foot the bill". The Nobles said, "BITCH I'D RATHER DIE" and then they did.

We're already stripped every neccesary and not neccesary government organization and service to the bone. We can't even have free-tax filing; the problem isn't cost, it's revenue.

>taxes
>too low
Go glow somewhere else
Instead how about we stop giving all our fucking money away in foreign aids and dem programs while removing all income taxation
>>
>>62385524
We can have social services AND have lower taxes for the average person. Just put back corporate tax rates back to what they were during the boomer's time and simplify the tax code.
>>
>>62385524
Foreign aid is basically nothing. The biggest expenditures are Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA benefits. Basically everything else is a rounding error.
>>
>>62386402
>just increase taxes
No, they're already beyond exorbitant
We don't need all these social services just to import the difference and make everybody worse off
>>62386422
>basically nothing
Good, then it won't be missed when it gets cut
>social security
>medicare
>medicaid
Can all be cut as well. We don't need these funds simply to be "borrowed against" to collateralize even more bullshit the government doesn't need to be involved in.
>inb4 oh noes what about the nigger riots!?
Arrested and put to work. 2 for 1
>va benefits
Are just about the only legit thing there, since its upholding the bargain of a citizen giving their life and livelihood to the state for a time in return for perks later in life
I long for the day the state has outward facing teeth instead of inward again

Do you want a functional society, or is sucking billionaire dick JUST THAT NOURISHING for you? Social services are what separates first-world countries from 3rd world countries. If you want to be live like you live in guam, move to guam. I want to live like I'm european, why don't you?
>>
>>62379035
because it's easy to spend other people's money. also people get elected by promising to give people free shit. there's no long term thinking or accountability after that.

I hate the tier of disingenuous bullshit the dialog has sunk to on the modern internet
I said what I said and didn't say what your tiktok rotted brain thinks I said
I don't want to live like impoverished, overtaxed euros. I want to live unfettered on my land and tell the government to kindly go fuck itself until I want their involvement, like an American
And you can go live in europe if you think its so much better. Funny how free association works, yeah?

Trust me, I'm trying every day to move. You don't have to worry about me. Either way, yuo said retarded bullshit, and I told you its logical conclusion. Just because you say dumb things and expect other people to take your mistruths as face value doesn't mean I'm going to do the same. It's not the euros struggling to afford to get to work. It's not the euros being bankrupt from a single broken leg. It's not the euros who work more, eat worse, have their kids stuck inside the home in suburbia. It's not the euros paying private companies to pay their own fucking taxes. So you calling THEM impoverished caps your iq at 90, sorry to tell you.
You wanna tell the govt to go fuck itself, but you won't tell the corps? Power is going to centralize somehow, and you can either have some input on that, or let someone not at all beholden to you get the reins. If you want unregulated corps using wood chips to add weight to bread and chip bags or continue to put ethanol in gasoline, do nothing for the latter and wait 10 years for the former.

That's what inevitably happens when you have a monopoly on violence called the state.
You are now in the decline phase of the ponzi scheme, also called end stage statism.

If the USA spent nothing for a year or two we could pay back the debt (not that this is remotely feasible). Personally, I like the idea of a sovereign wealth fund intended explicitly for paying the debt back, not sure why Trump axed it when his admin proposed it.

>No, they're already beyond exorbitant
Are major American companies actually going to pack their bags and leave to another country if gubment starts giving them serious taxes? Playing devil's advocate here, but if the entire world goes to shit, it takes something special for America to outdo the rest of the world due to reserve currency status. Besides, corporations purposefully underpay and expect you to figure out the rest, with retail expecting you to supplement your income with welfare. The welfare state has been a disaster for the poor and the corporations, both create market distortions due to ease of spending and club exclusivity. I'm "middle class," but you better believe if I got the same healthcare and food stamps like the corporations/poor, I would have extra money for saving/consumption.

>corporations purposefully underpay
Don't disagree at all
>welfare, corpo and otherwise have been an unmitigated disaster
Also agree completely. The tax and welfare schema has effectively made certain bad companies always end up on top, with executives believing themselves to be geniuses that need an order of magnitude higher compensation than deserved.
But you don't just away the problem when that tax money is just fueled right back to the source of the issue. The taxes need to go away so the fuel for corruption simply has less gas in the tank. Then the unnecessary subsidies start falling away, and their cancerous ancillary apparatus. This kind of market wide reorganization would 100% be sold as a crash, and a lot of make work bullshit industries would be culled, but its either that or we follow the hyperinflation train to the end of the line.

As part of the weaning process, I'd suggest pinning more favorable tax rates to companies that employ
>*only* natural born citizens
and/or
>*only* use domestically produced materials (I.e. feedstocks or components)
The second one would be tough to meet the mark in certain markets, but that's incentive to start carving those niches out yourself as an entrepreneur
