why don't they tell us the truth? why don't they just straight up fucking say that most careers are a dead end? where did the propaganda of $100k being enough came from? it's not fucking real, it's propaganda don't you guys get it?
>>
have you tried not living in a suburb next to boston?
>>
>>62382022
average house price in massachusetts is $700k anyway man.
>>
>>62382021
This. I make ~$300k PER MONTH and I'm barely living paycheck to paycheck. If you aren't clearing $10mil a year you're basically living in poverty.
>>
>>62382034
this unironically.

$100k per year is the new $25k a year.
>>
>>62382021
At the end of the day, 99% of the people on the internet, in the media, in the newspaper, everywhere really - except the flesh and blood ones, you speak to face to face.
Are all part of a different social class than you, a different environment; and in this alien social class, you need a lot of money to make "ends meet".
The internet is not fucking real..
>>
>>62382046
a downtown, non-shit apartment in columbus ohio is like 2k/yr, most houses are around 400k. stop living in expensive states if you don't want to stay a peasant.
>>
>>62382064
>The internet is not fucking real...
agreed, nobody has any incentive to tell you any real picture. the data needs to speak for it, but even job openings are misinterpreted from ghost listings. a dumb niggerfaggot reddit acocount could just be some auto generated bot spam that isnt even a real person, that is earning an income they dont have or maintaining appearances or not saying what they actually make. With AI now you can make an entire social media account of yourself in theory and appear like you're going out to the club spending $200 a day and nobody can prove or disprove it. It's not fucking real dude.
>>
>>62382074
brother that's the thing, they tell YOU to earn less and work more. It's honestly fair if the supply of labor is actually.... Maybe there IS NO NEED for more white collar workers, maybe the career pipeline is gone because there is just enough workers. It's entirely possible that that's the case and the cope is to think there is enough for everybody, there isn't and never was. But the reality could be far worse than what they make of it, that it's actually genuinely lower than what anyone wants to believe. Again, nobody has incentive to tell you the truth except for autistic economists and their data gets buried in papers that nobody fucking reads. It may very well be the case that "middle class" is a fucking illusion, that real upper middle class is $400k-$700k
>>
it's becoming increasingly more of the norm that the dual-income strategy is how you can make this work. and that makes no fucking sense, so you need to somehow get a partner that you can trust to build sustainable wealth+life enjoyment/yield or whatever together; whilst not having the pre-req of having your own place to even get that partner. it's beyond delusion and autistic to think people will pair up in high school and college when they're actually just not even doing that; people are emotionally maturing later.

I'm not doompilling this is the reality, I don't think "things are fine". This is literally a sink or swim environment that nobody has any real incentive to say what the truth actually is.
>>
>>62382021
Dual income harder, kobiyashi

passport bro, I set a business for my wife. She makes $70k, I make $145k. Grandparents help watch the kids early age. We're so ahead of our peers it not even funny.

Women from the outside get it and are willing to grind with you if you have a plan.
>>
>>62382021
you were supposed to get married

why didn't you get married?
>>
>>62382028
Then don’t live in shitty Massachusetts?

If you can't live off $100k you're a fucking retard. Boomers lived off hot dogs made out of pig anuses that they grilled at home and drank cheap shitty beer to fall asleep. You can do that too. Sorry you can't door dash a Jimmy John's sandwich every day for $15 to your worthless ass and drink a $8 IPA at a brew pub and also save money. You should learn from your elders.
>>
100k was enough in 2020
Then the printing started
If you attended university in 2021, graduated last year, you are now a broke motherfucker.
>>
>>62382074
>stop living in states where jobs actually exist
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
>>
>>62382074
Only reason to stay in Columbus is if you're going to OSU, otherwise why tf would anyone want to live there
>>
>>62383057
I know you're being facetious, but this is genuinely what has gone wrong. We were all collectively made to think that $100k is acceptable when it does not match up to the cost of living for real.
>>
You like complaining and offer no solutions and when they are offered you continue on.

If you want to complain of drowning and the sky is falling and when a lifesaver or shelter from the storm is offered you completely disregard it and then go right back to mailing these posts.

the literal answer is:

viewpoint214.com

It's the best solution out of anything available.

>>62382022
You control where you live, the only thing preventing you from moving is your foolish fear of the unknown.
>>
>>62382021
I feel you fren. I’m also living in metro Boston, making about $150k so I’m doing alright but I’m already in my mid thirties and buying a house is still out of reach. Unless I want a crack house in Brockton
>>
>>62386106
fuck bro I feel you, I know it sounds insane but it shouldn't be honestly. that $180k figure was assuming someone would start with that TO set them up to buying a house in their mid 20s. It's unbelievable and I feel for you bro. The system broke, we're genuinely approaching wealth stratification and solidifying in the existing wealth class we're in.
>>
>>62382021
Most people live with a partner or family so they dont need to make that much. Breaking news: it's expensive to live alone with the amenities a family can afford
>>
>>62382021
Have you tried to cut living expenses?
I make $150,000 a year and only spend $930 a month on a mortgage.
No car payment.
No credit card debt
>>
>>62386769
>>62386783
honest to god I think i'll just get like 4 roommates. live the crazy life, maybe install a lock in my room so my shit doesnt get stolen; maybe a mini cctv.
>>
>>62388944
that lock won't keep em out fren
>>
>>62388944
What about living with 12 dudes in the same room and working as a doordasher?
