Is work for home bad for your career?
t. Accounting fag
>>
There is no career anyway, use the added free time for learning and personal growth so you have options when the inevitable "you are made redundant" mail comes. Loyalty and bootlicking are worthless and you know it.

i'm fully remote and went from senior accountant to senior manager in 4 years at a f20 company. fully remote can be bad for your career if you have a meek/lazy personality or your work isn't visible to people outside of your immediate manager. however, the same is true even if you work in-office.

What F20 lmao? Doubt

i had 3 YOE before this and i work in the insurance/pharma industry. it's not a tech company so it's not like i'm making $250k/yr or anything.

McKesson isn't remote

i don't work at mckesson but i've interviewed there and interviewed people for work for mckesson. last i checked, they still hired and had remote employees.

i don't understand.

>working remotely
>accounting

This is just asking for your job to be outsourced or automated
>>
>>62383617
doesn't make a difference. whether or not your job will be outsourced depends on the complexity of your work and how often you interact with management. it's not a function of how often you come in to the office.

my last job did a hybrid RTO after COVID and then announced mass offshoring to india shortly thereafter. my current job did the same thing. the people who were spared (some of whom were grandfathered into fully remote) had complex work requiring judgement or regular presentation/oversight by directors and above.
>>
remote job = can be outsourced

also yes remote jobs really do fuck up your career because you get too comfy and they use it to not raise your salary

but you do you

t. got stuck 5 years in the same position with almost no salary raises for 5 years and resigned to get something better

I work in sales and I had a meeting with my coworkers where I mentioned I'm planning a Japan trip in November, they asked me not to and I told them that if I wanted to fly to Japan next week none of them would even notice lol

Is there anything an accountant can do that Claude can't already do 100x better and faster? Claude finds me every legal loophole and processes all my data within minutes. What value does an accountant bring to the table? I fired mine. You might as well work from home and be comfy while waiting for your career to disappear entirely.
