Reminder that if SPCX trades 30% above IPO price (i.e. $195 per share) for five out of ten consecutive trading days, they are required to immediately make available another 10% of shares, i.e. the float would triple. Pre-market it hit $194.86. They are simply making damn sure this thing does not go over 195 prematurely, otherwise it would be at 300 already.

We live in a market where tweets matter. Things aren’t rational. The markets are not paying attention to the details. Large naked short selling has been occurring by sovereigns (US JPY) to suppress the price. Of oil the don’t have on the futures market. Not at those prices. They had to to stave off market panic. It was a national security issue. But now we know. 4 weeks. Either way. Some level of market dislocation is coming. EVEN IF the deal sticks. Its magnitude? Hard to say. But I don’t think it will pass in a week.

I don't know if I you guys are actually better at picking stocks than r/tfsa millionaires or if I just hate reddit but shill me your medium-long term 10x's. What's the changing technological market landscape going to be while this ai hype goes on and after? since I missed the biggest gains with semi's and memory, I would assume Photonics is next, maybe quantum but I know that use case is rather niche and definitely not commercially viable to the consumer

TA doesn't work on anything. It's literally selection bias where you make predictions based on vibes. If you are wrong you invent a bullshit excuse like "oh it was testing the bottom and went through" and if you are correct you pretend that it's because of whatever lines you drew.
Basically it's like astrology but for men

I saw true. I don't try to predict anything. I react based upon what it does, if it breaks a level well strength, I buy it, now I may mark out shapes and lines on the chart as I go.But everybody knows institutional types only trade tye 200, if you were a real trader, you'd understand you will usually lose more than you will, depending upon your strategy. At a thirty to sixty percent ratio, what matters is that your losses are smaller than your big wins. If I catch a move as it breaks a 2 or 3 point Trend line with 200 ma confluence, this has a stronger setup Then, just looking at something saying,Oh, I'll buy the dip.Or oh, this one is running up.I think I'll get in here.

Anything is a gamble, even owning a business or going to work,

But with trading and owning a business as well, you can significantly increase your odds vs standard gambling practices or working hourly. W two job.

Besides what's your motivation to talk shit with no valid counter argument.

You're either brown,
Contrarian troll,
Or gatekeeping, all of which are dishonorable practices.

I just dropped 40k on a down payment on a house last month. Yeah I probably could have made more throwing it into tech but at least I won't be living with my parents at 30. Like who knows maybe you could ape in, let it rip until Jan, and cash out for more by the end of the year; or, maybe you ape in and we have another Iran-type moment and it tanks.

I'd say don't risk it, too many social upsides to having your own pad rather than raw dollars. Or go the bond route if you have to buy something. How old are you?

Well since there is the parents safety net I would go with something risky but that's something only you can decide because it depends on your relationship with your parents, how willing you are to go back there in case things go wrong and how many siblings you have to split the inheritance
Putting your money into something safe is also an option, it won't make much but you'll be able to buy the house for sure

It's just luck. TA does help with risk mitigation because people willing to learn about lines are more likely to study when to stop trades and for how long to let a winning position go. So it's not that TA helps them be profitable but that their approach to trading makes it so that they are better equipped to leave losing positions and aren't super greedy when they get a winning lucky chance.

bruhs
need some advice
I've got about $100k locked up in fixed rate bonds (expires next month) and/or just accruing savings interest of about 3-4% per year just because I don't want to have literally every penny I have relying on market performance.

Should I just dump this into the most conservative safest index fund/vanguard etf instead?
Do you have anything that's 0% risk or are you guys all in?
>>
>>62385357
yeah i held mstr for 1,5 years

Wouldn't recommend playing the end of the day. Either do a coin toss into the well at the beginning of the day, or wait for a big candle and play a reversal particularly if it's red. Big green candles can fuck you very hard as there's often less sell pressure than there is buy pressure on a red candle

There's really very little difference between most large ETFs. There is no 0% risk option besides what you were already doing(bonds) or weathering the entirety of the stock market's volatility in the true long-term(decades of holding). The stock market is more insane and volatile than it's ever been and a lot of people are constantly expecting it to crash soon. Personally, my estimate is 2028 when Trump has to leave office as whatever he's doing is letting big money keep up their chicanery far past all prior expectations.

Also, don't consider selling all your investments before a risky moment then buying back in after at a higher price a loss. It's simply avoiding a risky gamble. You trade a potential gain to avoid a potential loss. Permaholding might be the best long-term strategy, but it guarantees you get hit by every downturn.

Retirement savings are going to be locked up in 401k accounts though. Yeah, you can take loans out against them, or take the money early (and pay out the ass on taxes), but nobody would really consider that to be available money.
However, to play devil's advocate here, if you do take significant deferrals to retirement accounts you can just stop doing that for a time if you really need to build up available cash. Of course you miss out on potential months of employer matches.
>>
>>62385429
https://www.kiplinger.com/retirement/retirement-planning/average-retirement-savings-by-age
You can also look there, or literally anywhere that isn't that one specific DC non-profit you posted. Coping that you're doing okay because the average American only has 1000 bucks saved up for retirement is just pathetic because you're literally just lying to yourself.

Just zoom into the 1 hour chart for spy and study it. Most stress-free thing I think would be a coin toss of 0.5% at the beginning of the day, but if you do study the chart you will be able to see that there are a decent number of reversals or entry points. Then you do the same thing, buying with an unbelievably small portion of your portfolio and not watching it until you come back in an hour.
Also wouldn't recommend GRRR. That anon has been posting the same screenshot for like a month. See >>62385334 >>62385345 >>62385348

Maybe in la la land there are no directional indicators. It's also irrelevant.
There are numerous ways to try to isolate variables and cross validate correlations. But if you want it dead simple all you need to prove your "winners" aren't explained by random distribution is time.
If someone is beating the market for 15 years it's highly improbable that they're "winning" by random distribution. At 35ish years you're in the realm of statistical impossibility. If there are quant/ta type traders winning at that timescale (there are) then you have to explain their edge.

Your explanation is shitty. There are better explanations out there with more weight behind them than yours.
What is unequivocal is that if there are long term winners, the system isn't purely random. It's not just survivorship bias. I shouldn't have to explain that.
